Loki woke to your shaking body in his arms, your breath came in short, uneven gasps. As soon as his fingers touched your skin, you sat up, hearing the scream drain from your throat. The one you had become so used to hearing. You heard a voice beside you calling out your name and pulling you against them. Turning, instead of seeing your Loki, you were triggered back into the night terror. He was trying to rip out your heart. The only thought that crossed your foggy mind was get out! Struggling to free yourself, you yanked yourself from his grip.

Falling from his bed and the warmth of the blankets, you beat at the hands that pulled you towards him. In your delirium you struggled to get away from the monster that held you captive. Throwing yourself from his grasp, you ripped the thin nightshirt you had on, exposing the ugly scar that dragged across your heart.

Loki's eyes widened in shock and regret as he watched you freak out from seeing the ugly wite mark on you. His eyes clouded with pain as he watched you struggle to get out of your own skin. Out of your body. The cut, bruised, scarred body that bore his wounds.

Leaping from the bed he tried to coax you towards him. With your back in a corner, your shrieks turned to teary whimpers each time he reached out his arms. His eyes clouded in confusion and agony as he watched the girl he loved whither away from him. In fear. You were afraid of him.

Just as those words crossed Loki's mind, Tony smashed through the door followed by the rest of the crew.

"Get away from her, you bastard!" he commanded, "before I kill you myself!" he shouted. Thor pushed his hammer into Loki's chest, moving him backwards.

"What have you done to the maiden!" he questioned. His voice laced with accusations and anger.

"She's afraid of me," Loki's voice was no more than a whisper, yet the whole room turned, hearing the strained words. He turned away from them, "GET OUT!" he roared. One by one they trickled out. Leaving Loki alone in the darkness.

A week passed. You hadn't seen Loki once. And when you would go to his room, his door was locked and no reply came no matter how much you pleaded. It hurt. You were confused and didn't know why he wouldn't speak to you. No matter how much you asked, none of the Avengers would tell you. Even Natasha. She would look away sadly giving you a halfhearted excuse.

When you could finally handle it any longer, you were told Nick Fury had put you on a mission. A group of undercover S.H.I.E.L.D. agents had a secret location where they were sending out information to unknown sights. They needed to be found and shut down. They had files which couldn't get out into the public. Suiting up you and Steve headed out.

It was a long flight. You weren't exactly pleased with any of the guys (or Natasha) currently, due to them not telling you anything. You avoided Steve's eyes, and said little when he would try to start a conversation.

"You know," Steve finally piped up, "we are just protecting you. It's better if you don't know."

"You don't get to make that decision for me," you snapped back. Feeling the anger rise in your chest.

"You're right, we don't," he agreed, "but you are a part of this team. And the team looks out for each other. If we all agree it's best not to tell you, then you should know it's the right decision Sasha." you turned away from him in your seat. Folding your arms over your chest. You knew he was right, but you weren't ready to admit that.

The jet landed, and one they stepped onto the grass Steve grabbed you by the shoulders and made you face him.

"Sasha, just because you're feeling angry and bitter right now doesn't mean you can ignore your teammate. You're in this mission just as much as I am."

"I know," you said glumly. Staring at your black boots.

"Okay, so first we need to get inside the building and locate the main database. We'll go from there.

You only encountered two watchmen. Other than that, the building was seemingly empty.

"Hey Steve," you called, "get over here, I think I found it."

"Very smart of them to put everything important in a room that could pass as a janitor's closet," Steve joked.

"Okay so first we need to send this location back to the S.H.I.E.L.D. corporate office. Your fingers deftly sifted through the files before sending your status to Fury.

"Okay can you send the information they have to the base while I download the data and delete it," my question came out as more of an order, but Steve complied. Turning back to your work you plugged the drive into the computer.

"Hey can you also- LOOK OUT!" you shout. Whipping out your gun you sent two, clean bullet holes straight through his attacker's chest. He crumpled and a scarlett pool began gathering under him.

"That's definitely got to be my least favorite part about fighting. Having to kill," you looked down at the agent. He looked to be about in his forties. You heard a thump, and looked up.

"Steve?"

The eyes yours locked with didn't belong to Steve. You were fast, but he was faster. Before your hand could even finish its course towards his throat, something that felt like metal came down hard on you from behind. The last thing you saw as your eyes closed was crimson blood. Your blood.
