NICO'S POV

Over the year with Ares, I had somehow grown to be extremely afraid of flying in heights. Even as Eri was rubbing my back telling me it was going to fine, my hands would not let go of the rails.

"Oh my gods, Valdez! Slow down!" I screamed, my hair flying through the warm winds.

Eri however, was having the time of the life. She was sitting on the railing, her long ponytail often hitting me in the face. "Whoo!! This is amazing!"

I gawked up at her. "Eri! Get down before you DIE!"

"I'm not going to die!" From the other side of the deck, John pushed up his glasses, looking rather displeased by Eri's actions.

Jason strode across the deck, his stupid blonde Superman look giving him the place of staying high in the sky. He leaned across the railing and gave me a pearly smile. "Whats up, Death Boy?"

I sent him a cold glare, my eyes piercing right through his soul-at least I hoped. "Don't call me that."

"Aw, why not?" Jason moved his hand to touch my hair but I quickly grabbed it and twisted it to an angle, one more move and Jason's wrist would be broken.

"Don't touch me either," I growled.

Jason nodded quickly and I released him. Jason took a step back just as my stomach lurched. I leaned over the railing and groaned, "Oh god's, I think I'm going to be sick..."

I felt someone rub my back, chuckling. Jason, that asshole. "I said not to-"

Before I could finish my sentence, my previous meal came from my mouth and went over the railing, most likely falling on pedestrians or something else. Hopefully, a monster.

Jason continued to rub my back as I finished puking over the edge of the ship. I slid down the rail and caught my breath. Jason left and came back with a water.

I eyed him as I took the water and sloshed some around my mouth. I stood back up and spit it overboard. I sat back down. "Thanks."

Jason nodded, though he seemed distracted. I fixed my hair as I said, "Spill."

He sighed. "Am I really that easy to read?"

I stared at him before dying of laughter. "Dude, I trained with the god of war for a year with two experienced people that have been with him for awhile. Of course I'm going to know something's up,"

Jason only stared blankly. I glared at him before he shook his head and turned his head away to look at the other side of the ship. "I'm sorry."

This time I was caught staring blankly. "What?"

Jason glared at the ground. "I'm sorry about what happened..."

"Um, are you doing drugs or something?" I asked incrediously. Was this guy serious? I haven't even made this guy bleed and here he is getting all cheesy and shit on me!

"No! I don't go that way, man." Jason said seriously. "But... I really am sorry. I was angry about the whole situation and I just took it out on you,"

My body reacted on its own. Ares had taught us not to react to situations harshly but right now everything just went out of hand. My fist connected with Jason's face so hard he fell to the floor, cracking the wood floor. I stood up, fighting off my nausea and began beating Jason to the pulp. I didn't know what happened in the next few minutes.

When I woke up Eri was above me and the stars were shining high above her. "W-What happened?"

Eri smiled and helped me up, handing me a cup of water. I drank it gratefully as Eri begin to explain what I had done. "Its like you lost control. You just up and destroyed him!"

"Is... Jason alright?" I asked shakily. I couldn't believe it. Ares had taught us to control our anger and not to lash out. But my anger spilled over and I lost it.

Eri visably winced. "Well..."

"What did I do, Eri?" She glanced down at the floor then shuffled over a bit.

Blood was splattered everywhere. Did I... Really do that? I did that to Jason?

I felt like crying. I felt like a 15 year old again when Percy went off with Annabeth.

I stood up quickly and ran to Jason's room. Leo was standing outside looking grim. Before I could say anything to him, my nausea hit me and I began emptying my contents once again.

"Aw, man!" Leo shouted. "Not in the hallway, bro!"

Leo led me to the nearest bathroom and ran to grab some water. I sat by the toilet feeling worse. Leo handed me the water and I drank it all. "Sorry..."

Leo grinned. "Don't worry about it."

I looked up at him. "How is he...?"

Leo's smile dropped. "He lost a lot of blood, Nico. Were not sure how he's going to survive so were going to head back to camp and get him healed. Once we know he's in good hands and his health is all good, we'll head out and continue on our mission to save Percy!"

I nodded. "Can I see him?"

"I'd think it'd be better for you not to see him." Leo said seriously, all playfulness dropping from his voice. "I wouldn't want to see what I did to a friend,"

Leo left after I stayed quiet. Jason wasn't my friend. He changed me. Standing, I stood in front of the mirror and stared. Long hair, scars, more muscle. I thought back to how I was before. Before Jason snapped, before Ares.

Eri took me back to my room, demanding I needed to rest. I couldn't pull myself away from the mirror. Looking down, I said, "Eri, how was I when you first saw me?"

Eri didn't even need to think. It seemed like she remembered it like it was yesterday. "You were shorter, a little muscle to get you by. You didn't seem very fit and you always were looking for an excuse to eat McDonalds,"

I looked into the mirror and lifted my shirt causing Eri to squeal. Abs. I didn't have abs before. "Hey... Whats so bad about McDonalds?"

My frown caused Eri to giggle. "Nothing. As long as you don't get obese from that crap its all good,"

"Wheres John?" I asked.

Eri glanced away and rubbed her wrists. "John wasn't too happy that you lost control. He shoved me away and had to take you out himself. He's tending to Jason's wounds."

I walked out of the room and headed toward Jason's room. Just what did I do to him?

My hand reached for the knob but stopped. Did I want to see what I did? I turned the knob and entered the room. Of course I do. Jason's a valuable friend who I can't let go that easily.
