Suddenly, screams erupted through the streets. Sky glanced up from the market stall in the direction of the running people. As he pushed through the flow of crowd, trying to see what was happening, he spotted Chosen doing the same. When they had finally breached the last wave of people, the growls of monsters reached their ears.As the duo rushed out of the gate and into the field, they were greeted by a large swarm of strange looking monsters. Side by side they leapt into the fray swords drawn. Weaving his way through the battle field with quick elegant strokes from the Master Sword cutting down enemies, Sky called to Chosen.
"These things kinda look like bokoblins. I've never seen them before."
"Neither have I. This whole place is quite different, all the more reason to keep focus kiddo," Chosen replied after delivering a smooth blow to a "bokoblin." Sky scanned the stained field before charging at the nearest monster which happened to be a purple and grey striped bokoblin like thing. He slashed at it injuring its side, but unlike the other monsters it retaliated. Reflexively, the teen raised his shield. He stumbled from the force of the blow and rolled aside to avoid the large sword arcing towards him.
"Chosen, watch out for the purple and grey ones!" Sky grunted as he fought, "They seem to be tougher than other ones!'' He glanced behind him to find Chosen already fighting one.
The knight of Hylia moved to the rhythm of the battle in a deadly dance. His blade sparked off the steel of the bokoblin's weapon as he brought it down. The monster swung at the man. The weapon swept over Chosen's head as he ducked. His sword made its home in the monster's chest.
As the Hylian turned to face his next adversary, a cloaked figure, which appeared to be suspended in the air for a moment, loosed an arrow. A loud explosion boomed to Chosen's far right. Among the spraying dirt, bodies of monsters launched skyward.
"You killed a silver boko. Nice job." A young male voice complimented from beneath the hood. Drawing a sword, the boy ran into the mob, throwing a salute over his shoulder. In his wake, a sizable amount of monsters fell in a trail.
When Chosen took a glance at his surroundings again, he was surprised to find that the number of enemies had greatly decreased and the number of Hylians multiplied times five.
Near the gate of Castle town three of the boys he'd seen at the inn were battling the horde and keeping them from the entrance. The other two fought to the left of the battle field, while three newcomers, including the kid in the navy cloak, cut down enemies on the right.
As the battle raged on, all four groups pushed into the center of the plain. The monsters were nothing but purple malice smoke by the time the heroes met in the center.
The crimson battle field was now deathly silent. Red eyes shrunk back into the shadows as the heroes approached each other. The silence remained as they studied each other until a voice perked up.
"I'm pretty sure I know who all of you are, but just to clarify mind sharing your names? Or should I say name?"
All eyes landed on the short, colorful hero whose eyes seemed to have a violet glint. A few nods and a few glares answered him.
The sun-kissed blond boy Chosen knew to be called Wind raised his hand.
"I can go first!" He grinned. "Hoy! My name's Link. You can call me Wind."
Chosen raised a brow at that. There's another hero?
"I'm Link." The small one introduced. "Call me Four."
"I'm Link Capitan of the Hyrulian army." The tallest and most likely the oldest of that trio formally introduced himself. "You may call me Warriors or Capitan."
"I'm also Link. Uhm... hi. My nickname's Hyrule." The brunet from the inn spoke shyly. Everyone glanced to the boy's left where his companion stood silently with a grouchy frown. Hyrule elbowed the older boy, but he didn't budge. Hyrule sighed.
"Uh... This is also Link. I call him Legend."
The boy in the cloak chimed in. "My name is Link too."
Said Link tugged his hood down revealing severe scarring on the left side of his face.
"Cub!" The older boy with markings on his face tried to warn. The man behind him, who also had markings on his face as well as a scar cutting across his right eye, laid a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
"Let it go, Pup. I don't believe they are enemies. Let him finish.'' The man gently spoke.
"Anyway... You can call me wild." The teen finished. He smirked up at the older teen expectantly.
"Call me Twilight." He huffed arms crossed. "My real name's Link if you haven't already guessed."
"Link.'' The man behind the two boys stated shortly. "These two call me Time."
"Shoot. All of them are... but how? Now there are eight more heroes." Chosen thought.
"Chosen? Are you okay? You're not hurt are you?" Sky inquired with concern, moving in front of him to check.
"Hm? No I'm fine." He blinked and shook his head to clear his mind.
"Well if you're sure. It's your turn." Sky hesitantly moved to his side.
"Oh. Well my name is Link. You may call me Chosen." He clenched and unclenched his hands not knowing what to do with them. The grass swished as he shifted his weight.
Wind cupped his chin with his left hand and furrowed a thick brow. "So we're all heroes. There's no possible way this situation can be a coincidence."
"The kid's right. Something big is going on. Some evil greater than anyone of us ever faced alone." Time added gravely, jaw set in a slight scowl.
"So the goddesses' plans were to bring us all together to stop what ever evil this is." Warriors clarified brushing stray hair to the side of his face.
"Oh no! Din give me strength if I have to spend the entirety of this quest with this moron!" Legend exclaimed gesturing dramatically at the captain. Hyrule facepalmed beside him as a few chuckles echoed throughout the group.
"So he can talk!" Warriors smirked as he folded his arms in front of him.
Legend fumed and stepped forward. "You already knew that! We were arguing in that dang cafeteria, you-"
"Not this again you two!" Four cut in, placing himself between the two heroes. "Break it up."
Sky also walked over to them. He advised gently, "It's probably best for all of us to settle any quarrels between us if we are to be traveling together. A divided group can't function properly.''
Legend grumbled with a scowl, "Fine, whatever."
"Sure.'' Warriors stated with a dismissive wave of his hand.
"Now that that's been dealt with, we should probably get back to the inn. We can talk more there." Chosen suggested studying the now orange sky as his light hair was combed by cool air softly rushing by.
The rest of the heroes nodded in agreement and headed in the direction of Castle Town.
I found this when I was looking for the music! It's actually really good! Although I think it's too chaotic to read and listen to at the same time. Hey! Look! Listen! ~ Hero of Courage
