That Saturday was still Jake's week with Juliet and for once, Heather was a little elated to have a weekend to herself. She was exhausted after the week in work and couldn't wait to just relax for the day.

She had already been out on her run, bought her groceries and got ahead of her work for the following week, she was more than ready for this evening.

Looking to the window as it started to pour down with rain outside, Heather couldn't help but smile. She loved the rain when she was wrapped up inside with a book or watching TV.

She couldn't count the amount of times she and Jake had cancelled plans while they were dating to just sit with each other. Wrapped up in each other's arms and a blanket and just watch the sheets of rain falling on the window.

She shook her head. Why had she thought of that? That didn't matter.

Picking up her blanket, and her book, Heather settled on the couch, curling up in a way her masseuse would most likely scold her for.

Her haven was interrupted only a few minutes later when her apartment door opened and the screaming of her daughter filled the room.

Closing her eyes for a second, Heather sighed at the overly dramatic screams from her child. It wasn't the first time she'd heard them, it won't be the last.

"What?! What's the matter?" Heather shouted as the little girl crashed into her legs. Her voice was barely louder than the six year olds cries.

The sound of Jake's stomping boots came next. She had obviously run away from him in the hallway. She had done that countless times before.

"Julie! Please don't run off like that again. I'm sorry-" Jake apologised looking at Heather who waved him off and nodded to the couch behind her for him to make himself comfortable.

The two of them were soaked and Heather made quick work of removing her daughters coat, tossing it to the side. She looked over her shoulder at Jake, giving him a look until he took his heavy coat off as well.

"He- he's marrying her!" Juliet cried, wrapping her arms around her mother who once again rolled her eyes at the dramatics.

Sitting down on the floor, she pushed the little girl off of her so she could see her face properly. She looked distraught but Heather knew it was all a show to get her own way.

Juliet, however, had her ulterior motive. If her dad was marrying Lucia, that meant her parents wouldn't be getting back together and she couldn't stand that.

"Juliet, that's daddy's choice. He wants to marry Lucia. He loves her," Heather mused. Jake had spoken to her about marrying Lucia before and she had all but pushed him to do it. Jake seemed happy.

She knew it was coming when he asked her opinion on engagement rings during the week. He had also let slip the one he had picked out for her before they broke up. Heather's heart had broken at that fact.

"But I want you!" The little girl screamed yet again and by now, Heather's patience for the little girl was wearing thin.

She hated when her daughter screamed. Jake and Heather didn't raise her like that. They rarely raised their voices at her unless she had been acting particularly out of line.

"Come on, take a breath for mommy," Heather cooed softly trying to calm her daughter before they spoke to her again.

Jake moved to sit on the floor beside Heather and Juliet. Watching her as she helped their daughter regain her breath.

"Juliet, Lucia isn't replacing mom," Jake said softly, reaching out and brushing Juliet's hair out of her face.

Juliet looked to her father, she hated the woman he was marrying. Purely because, she wasn't her mother.
