By mid April, Heather had completely moved in with Jake and sold her apartment. In that time, they had found the perfect house and put an offer on it.

They had another viewing that day, the whole day was busy but Jake had made sure to carve out a few hours for this.

Heather had panicked when they started picking out a house. Convincing herself they were moving too fast, but Jake slowly calmed her down.

He told her they'd revoke the idea if they needed to and she could get her own place again.

It was then she realised how stupid she was being. This was Jake. The same Jake she wanted to be with seven years ago. The one she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. It wasn't too fast, it was perfect for them.

His book release was this evening and Heather was so excited for him. She had seen how well The Outpost had done and she had no doubt that The Hellfire Club would do as well.

"Jake!" Heather's voice rang through the apartment. At eight am on his day off, this wasn't what Jake expected.

The news anchor was startled from his sleep at the sound of his girlfriend yelling for him. Jumping from the bed, he rushed out to the living room where both his girlfriend and child were.

When he got there, he released a breath of relief. Neither of them seemed hurt.

"We got the house," Heather said excitedly, Juliet by her side wondering what all this meant but she assumed it was something good.

"In the suburbs?" Jake asked, moving towards her. They had been to see it once, and fell in love with it. They had put an offer on it then and there.

Heather nodded excitedly, smiling widely as Jake attempted to wake up a little bit more.

"Yes. The four bedroom, five bathroom. We got the house," Heather said in a near squeal. She rushed to Jake, who was quick to pick her up, sitting her on his waist.

Jake smiled, kissing her lips, her arms wrapping around his neck.

"Let's get dressed and go see our house," Jake smiled, pressing another brief kiss to her lips, his hand moving to Juliet who had wrapped an arm around his thigh.

It was early afternoon when the family pulled up to the suburban house. Juliet hadn't stopped talking about what she wanted for her bedroom the whole way to the house.

"Mr. Tapper, Ms. French, and little miss. Tapper, congratulations on your new home!" The realtor smiled as the family walked up the steps to meet her.

For a second, it stung Heather. The fact that they would be married by now had she not ruined their relationship wasn't lost on her.

They all shook hands before she handed the keys to Jake. He smiled in thanks, linking his hand with Heather's before he unlocked the door to their home.

"It'll be ready for you both in about two or three weeks, there's just the small repairs and they're installing the new heating system," the realtor explained, putting papers in a folder for them.

Heather barely heard her, her mind was already wondering what they could do to the entrance hall to brighten it up a little bit.

"Now, if you two want to sign over here, we can get that out of the way so you can do another walk through," the realtor smiled, setting out the contract for them both to sign.

That didn't take long and she walked outside to wait for them to hand back the keys when they were ready.

"Juliet, honey be careful on the steps!" Heather called watching her daughter rush up stairs so she could see the room she was getting.
