The class was spread around in split groups on the track field during P.E. class. As the boys were taking a break from playing soccer, which Langa as always had proven to be good at, he sighed in relief thinking about how he had survived the history lesson and was still eternally thankful to (Y/N).
The blue-haired boy stood a little apart from the others as they took sips from their water bottles or wiped sweat off their foreheads. His classmates turned their attention to the girls to watch them play volleyball.
Langa followed their gaze and automatically made out (Y/N) on the make-shift outside court as the volleyball came flying her way. She seemed focused and she stepped forward for the receive, only for her to trip on thin air and straight-up faceplant, the ball comically falling down on her head.
Seeing her raise her head to reveal an expression that screamed grumpiness, her classmates laughed sheepishly, seeing as she didn't get hurt.
"(Y/N) is so nice," a guy near Langa started talking. "and you would think her clumsiness is cute, but-" He cut himself off.
"AAAAAARGHHH" An unworldly scream of anger escaped (Y/N)'s lips who was frustrated with herself, breaking the image of the oh so sweet, nice girl.
"-I think we can agree that that's not the epitome of cuteness." The boys deadpanned.
Langa didn't understand what they were talking about. Was she expected to act particularly cute for them? They should either find her cute as is or stop complaining. He chuckled. To him, she was cute just like that.

Making a beeline to the school gate, (Y/N) rubbed her forehead grumpily. "Does it still hurt?" Langa asked with slight concern yet some amusement.
The girl growled bitterly. "Why am I so freaking unathletic?!" She yelled upsettably as they turned the corner and left the school premises and directed their route to the bookstore. "People keep calling it 'clumsiness' but I actually just suck at sports!" Langa huffed and smiled as she now went on a tirade and started throwing her hands around in wild gestures. "Why can't my body just do what it's supposed to do when I tell it to?!" Her screaming had turned into whining at this point, but this was seemingly the end of her tantrum.
The boy knit his brows upwards slightly as the calm smile was still present on his features. "You're not that unathletic." He tried to calm her down further.
"Yeah, right." She agreed sarcastically. "You're easy to talk! You're good at all kinds of sports. How would you know what it's like?" She looked away and pouted sulkily, but way calmer compared to before.
"I just know." Langa answered for the lack of a better explanation, slightly unsure now and trying to cover up the fact he started to doubt if he really understood her.
(Y/N) saw right through him as a smile crept back onto her face and swept away her grumpiness. He always had a hard time understanding how others felt, no matter in what situation, so she couldn't be mad at him. In fact, it was one small flaw of his that was dear to her and that she found really cute.
"Hmm, talking about sports," she picked up the conversation elsewhere. "when will you and your dad go snowboarding again?"
"Well, when the season comes around. Even though it's always colder in the mountains than here, going in the middle of the summer is inefficient."
"You're right." (Y/N) wiped her forehead as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear before raising her head and looking at the blue sky. "Now that I think about it, it really is getting warm in the afternoon these days."
Langa hummed in agreement following her gaze.
"We'll go by motorcycle next time!" The girl decided on her own and smiled at him from the side excitedly, despite the boy being the one who actually drives.
"We've been doing nothing else ever since I got my license." Langa chuckled in amusement.
(Y/N) pursed her lips and squeezed her eyes shut in a silly manner. "Yeah, 'cause it's fun!"

"Ahh, there it is! The new volume!" (Y/N) grabbed the book as soon as she laid eyes on it upon entering the bookstore. Langa followed after her, glad to see his friend this happy.
"Oh, it's the last copy." The girl realised after looking around and instinctively tightening her grip around the treasure. She would fight for it if she had to.
"It sure is popular." Langa mused. "I didn't expect a story about a yeti to go through the roof like that."
"I wouldn't have thought so either, but the yeti is actually such a well-written character." (Y/N) started explaining, not being able to hold back when talking about a story she hyped. "The yeti lived alone in the mountains for all his life until he met a lost wanderer. He only then learned how much more fun life was when you shared joy with others. But then, the wanderer disappeared without a trace and the yeti has to muster up the courage to leave the mountains to look for his friend and he meets many new characters on his way." The girl's eyes sparkled with amazement before smiling to herself. "I know it's a rather childish story, but it has a nice message."
"Why did the wanderer disappear then? Didn't he know the yeti needed him?" Langa asked after having carefully listened to (Y/N)'s rant.
"It's not revealed what happened to the wanderer yet, but I hope he didn't go willingly. I would have stayed with the yeti if I were him."
"Hmmm," The boy hummed in thought. "But I'm sure meeting the wanderer encouraged the yeti a lot to be more social."
(Y/N) hummed in agreement. She somehow felt like she wanted to be Langa's wanderer.
"Oh, look at that!" The girl's attention swiftly shifted to a display of keychains. "Aren't that characters from this new video game Lucas can't stop talking about?"
Langa followed her to look at the keychains as well. "Yeah, they are." He reassured her.
"Should I get one for him? Hmm, but which one?"
The boy swiftly pointed at one of the little figurines. "I think that was his favourite character. He showed it to me last time."
"Ooh, you're always such a good listener, Langa." (Y/N) praised in awe. "I try my best to listen to his rants, but my brain can't comprehend it at some point." She chuckles sheepishly.
As she grabbed the keychain Langa had pointed at, he looked around at the other keychains further.
"Ah." Something seemed to have grabbed his attention as he reached for the snowdrop keychain. (Y/N) perked up and looked at what Langa held with curiosity. "Oh, they seem to have the most random things here too." She laughed.
The boy's expression didn't budge as he stared at the small item intrigued. "If you have everything, let's go pay." He looked up again as his and (Y/N)'s steps synced to the checkout.
After the girl had paid, she was surprised to see Langa actually buying that flower keychain. As they left the store and turned to the direction of (Y/N)'s favourite coffee shop, she turned to him.
"Why did you want to buy it?" She asked with curiosity, still a little surprised.
Langa looked at the keychain again before smiling at the girl. "It's just like you!" He simply answered, confusing her further. The boy wasn't sure of what he meant himself, but he just had the feeling.
(Y/N) was like the spring that melted the ice of the winter. But the best times were when winter and spring were together, like a snowdrop blooming next to the last pile of snow.
And we shall not forget, spring always comes after winter.
(Y/N) tilted her head and unconsciously brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, making her earrings sparkle in the sunlight. She raised a brow and smiled in amusement. "I really don't get what you're thinking sometimes." She brushed off her confusion.
Langa mirrored her smile, brushing the matter off too. "Let's go and get your drink now."
