Reki cursed under his breath as he moved pieces around in his workshop. "That damn Adam! I thought the founder of 'S' would be cool, but he's a total shit guy!"
"Yeah, right! I still can't believe him!" (Y/N) agreed as she slapped her sketchbook down in a rage.
After leaving 'S' today, (Y/N) and Reki had planned to work on the designing project they wanted to do together. They figured Langa wouldn't have much to do and after the beef today, it would be better if he went home to rest.
Langa felt weird when (Y/N) and Reki ushered him home when the two of them would still hang out afterwards without him. He was glad both of his best friends got along so well, but... maybe they got along too well for his liking.
On his way home, he clasped his snowdrop keychain tightly for some reason. Langa had been so glad that (Y/N) was back in his life, but never had he felt this weird fear of losing her anyways. Back in Canada, she had only ever really hung around him, even though people would approach her a lot. Now was the first time she really hung out with someone other than him, and Langa, even if it was just Reki, didn't like it for some reason.
Back in the workshop, (Y/N) and Reki were still complaining about Adam. "He's so toxic! How can he talk to Miya like that!" the girl screamed. "I'm taking offence as a big sister."
"(Y/N), you met Miya just today and you're really going to go through with the big sister thing?" Reki asked.
"Well, yeah. It's going to make me miss my actual little brother less." She explained. "Though I have to make sure the two of them will never meet... Gosh, it's like I'm cheating..." the girl realised.
Reki burst out laughing. "It really is. Though I think my little sisters would never get jealous over having to share me." The redhead mused.
"Because they have to share you with each other anyway?"
"No, because they don't care about me." He deadpanned jokingly.
Now it was (Y/N)'s turn to laugh. "I'm sure they care about you more than you think." She reassured him. "You're such a good big brother too. The way you defended Miya back there was very big-brotherly. Now you even have to skate against Adam."
"Well, that's because Adam was just wrong! Skating should be fun! Not whatever he's doing!"
(Y/N) stared into space and was quiet for a moment, before speaking up quietly. "You and Langa really love skating, huh? To be completely honest with you, I'm kind of jealous."
Reki perked up at the sudden change of atmosphere. "Jealous...? So you were feeling left out after all?" he asked, feeling a little guilty.
"I really thought it would be fine. It's never been a problem when Langa was snowboarding, but skating... He suddenly has so many people to skate with and I'm not one of them..." the girl admitted.
"(Y/N), I-"
"Please don't feel guilty." She cut him off and shot him a tiny sad smile. "I'm really grateful to you, y'know. You gave him his passion for something back. I'm really happy to see him have fun again." The girl explained before she looked at Reki and locked their eyes. "Reki, promise me you will always skate by Langa's side... because I can't."
The redhead furrowed his brows before finding determination in her words. "I promise!" he reassured her. "And I promise we will never leave you behind, but you have to promise to always be with us too!" He cheered up and with a cheeky grin extended a pinky to her. A smile came back to her face too as she linked her pinky with his, sealing the promise. "Promise!"
