Hinata's POV

Wow performing is fun

"Let's go see the results now violet," I said as she simply nodded and followed

"First place goes to Hinata shoyo and Violet Nakamura," said the announcer

"Huh?" I said

"We won?" I heard violet say

"I guess aunts practice paid off," I said to her as we went to get our certificate and were headed for the exit

"Violet!" someone said as both of us turn around to see someone who by the looks of it Violet knew him

"Violet do you know him?" I asked

"Yes he is my cousin Sora," she said with no emotion

"Um I guess ill let the both of you talk alone then," I said but as I was bout to leave she grabs my arm

"No let's go I have nothing to say to him," she said as she walked away while pulling my arm

"Violet I know you'll never forgive me but I'm sorry I had no choice," he said but we just ignored him

"Are you sure about this?" I asked her 

"yeah I left that family a long time ago ever since I met you years ago," She said with a smile

 "Huh?" I said

" you seriously don't remember me?" She said while looking at me

"um no?" I replied 

"well I met you when you...." she was saying

Hold on now that I think about it she looked so familiar ever since I saw her "I remember now!" I yelled which caused her to jump 

"you were the girl that my aunt brought over and I gave you a glass of water right?" I said 

"Wow so that's how you remembered me you really are an idiot," she said 

"well sorry, your majesty but I only saw you for like what? ten minutes" I replied with an annoyed tone of voice

"Shoyo!" We heard someone yell I turned around it was my team 

"Nishinoya!" I yelled 

"That was an amazing performance," said Suga while the rest of the team agreed

"Who are they?" asked Violet 

"oh right sorry for the late introduction this is Violet Nakamura and she plays the piano and is currently my partner and Violet this is my Volleyball team," I said to them

" Nice to meet you all,"  she said in a shy manner

"but aren't you too short to play volleyball?" she asked causing the team to laugh 

"you know Violet although it is an advantage you don't need it and also why do you act all shy with others and you're so mean to me," I said to her

to make me madder she just shrugs it off

" If you don't mind me asking you what happened to your old partner? I'm sure they also want the whole story" said Violet

"I'm surprised aunt didn't tell you," I said to her

"she said something about respecting her student's privacy" she replied

"as if she cares about that," I say with a smirk 

"well let's talk somewhere else it's too crowded here I think there a park near here," I said while I started to walk 

"so?" asked Tsukisima

"you have no tact you know that right," I said to him

"meh" was all he replied

"Okay so like Violet here my old partner name was also Violet and honestly its a bit creepy but anyway"

" I knew Violet science I can remember our mothers were also childhood friends to it was expected that we would be great friends my mother was a violinist and Violets mother played the piano they would occasionally team up to," I said to them

"I started learning how to play when I was five and first performed my solo when I was 7"

Flashback time

" hey sho your music is so pretty," said Violet

"well it the best I could play after all aunt  almost killed me in practice," I said shuddering with fear

"Why don't we pair up? I know you don't work well with others but I want to play music together with you" she said while looking at me 

" I don't know what if I mess up or something?" I said to her

"don't worry just be yourself it's not like I'm a stranger so what do you say?" she said while standing up

" ill give it a try but if I don't like it ill quit," I say with a pout

" then, in that case, I will give you a reason to not quit" she replied to me while she reached her hand  to me and I grabbed it  as we both stood up looking at the sunset that day

"Sho I know I promised you to not give you a reason to quit music and I really hope that I did," said violet 

"you, idiot of course you did " I replied with tears in my eyes we were back in the same place where we first made our promise to each other

" Really?" she said looking at me

"of course why else would I have teamed up with you," I said to her not daring to look at the expression she had

" then I guess I will only have one regret when I'm not here," she said

" what regret?" I asked finally looking at her and seeing him smile at me 

"not being there to listen to the melody you will create in the future," she said as her smile faded 

" don't say that," I said with tears that threaten to fall 

"sho can you promise you'll never quit no matter how sad you are," she said and that's when I finally realized she was also crying 

I hugged her while also crying " I can try" I say while both of us cried 

all those unsaid feelings and words weren't needed just our tears were enough 

End of flashback

" by the time we performed our last duet violet had about three weeks left to live," I said with a sad smile

"so we tried to spend all the time we could together but when she died I couldn't bring myself to play music for a while and broke our promise," I said with a smile
