Okay, so let's preface this by saying, there is only 1 episode left to air. I will be posting the episode 8 Easter egg review in a couple of days, but before episode 9 hits Disney+ let's chat about what questions we still have!
Below is a summary of the questions I still have that I'm hoping will be answered in the last episode. If you think they have already been answered, feel free to chime in. But more importantly, what questions haven't been answered for you yet?
As always, the below could be chock-full of potential spoilers. Since I am writing this as of 2/28/21, please be aware that I am including everything through episode 8. If you haven't seen episode 8 yet (or any of the episodes prior), this chapter could contain spoilers!
Now let's talk questions!!!
***Fair warning- I have not done editing on this chapter. This is not the norm for me, but I wanted to get this out quickly ❤️❤️ If anything doesn't make sense, definitely comment or let me know!
If the Vision in the Hex was created completely by Wanda, then how was Hayward tracking it? OR what was he tracking instead? So, we found out in episode 8 that Wanda didn't actually steal Vision's body from SWORD headquarters or any part of it. But we also know from episode 6 that Hayward was supposedly tracking Vision within the Hex via the decay signature of vibranium. So, how could Hayward have been tracking a Vision within the Hex that was actually not at all made of vibranium? Also, if Hayward knew he still had Vision's body, then why would he think he could track vibranium's decay signature?
Does Westview exist? This goes back to episode 4. When Monica was sent up to meet Jimmy at Westview about his "missing person's case," the Sheriff's office from Eastview said that Westview wasn't even supposed to exist. However, in episode 8, we found out from Wanda's memories that she had received a deed from Vision (presumably as a romantic gift of some kind) for a plot of land in Westview. So, this begs the question- was Wanda's memory somehow distorted or was the concept of Westview not existing a fallacy to begin with?
Who is the "missing person"? Since we are talking about episode 4 and what brought Monica and Jimmy to Westview, this all goes back to the supposed "missing person's" case. Supposedly, this person would be someone in the witness protection program, which is why Jimmy was assigned to deal with it (as a member of the FBI). As Jimmy was investigating it, he said that none of the close relations had even heard of the person. So, this begs the question- was there a missing person to begin with or was this some kind of ruse to get both Jimmy and Monica to go to the Hex? If so, who brought them there? And if it was someone in the witness protection program, who was it?
Are we going to see Mephisto? Since the beginning of WandaVision, the talk online has always revolved around Mephisto showing up as the villain in the series. Now, with 1 episode left, we still haven't seen him revealed. Was this some kind of crazy fake out by Marvel where we aren't actually going to meet Mephisto during WandaVision? Maybe we just get a hint of who it is or we find out in a post/mid-credits scene on the last episode (like we've seen them set up other projects in the past). If Mephisto is revealed in the last episode, who do you think it will be?
Who is Monica's "guy"? So, Monica has referred to her "guy" multiple times in terms of setting her up with everything she needed. I don't know that it was 100% clear whether she was referring to Major Goodner, who we saw in episode 7, or whether we are still waiting to meet them. I know there is still a lot of talk about this being the introduction of Reed Richards and the Fantastic 4. However, their movie isn't set to be rolled out until MUCH later in phase 4 or even possibly phase 5 (there are something like 4+ tv shows and 4+ movies that I'm seeing that are all scheduled to likely come out first). So, if not Reed Richards, do we think it is someone else or did WandaVision just do a bad job of totally clarifying that Major Goodner was that person? (We are also searching for more, so it may not be Marvel's fault.)
Will all the people within the Hex/been brought through the Hex become mutants? This kind of goes back to the question of the House of M storyline that has been hinted at in various episodes (episode 1 with the wine bottle's label and the end of episode 2 when Wanda says "No" to the Beekeeper being there, though that one may be more of a reach). But we also know from Darcy's info she dug up on Hayward's computer than Monica's cells were rewritten on a molecular level from going through the Hex and that now she does have her powers we know from the comics. So, which Monica has gone through the Hex barrier three times, what about everyone else? Are we looking at a Westview full of mutants?
Where the F*CK are the other Avengers? Okay, so I don't expect this to be answered by WandaVision, but seriously, what the hell. I know that during the various other spin off movies, everyone has their own things to deal with and they only sometimes have interaction or overlap (Thor and Hulk in Ragnorok, Falcon cameoing in AntMan, Iron Man doing his mentor thing in Spiderman Homecoming), but it seems like everyone just kind of ditched Wanda. So, I understand that this may need to happen for storyline and setting up the plot of future movies (we know that Wanda is playing a big role in the Multiverse of Madness), but still- Avengers, what the hell.
But really, how does a housewife get a bloodstain out of white linen? Dottie, you're a shitty friend for not telling us. Just saying.
Okay, that's all that I can come up with for now, but I may add to this list. And don't forget to send me your Easter eggs and final theories for episode 8 by the end of Monday!!!
