CH 9: Nuts and Bolts

Blackshot led the team this time on a huge hardware store called 'Nuts and Bolts'. The store, just like the previous store they have ransacked, was also guarded by gangsters.

He was asking himself a million times why did the PNP haven't done a single thing about this. Must be that the Corp has interfered, he thought. Corporations are feared throughout the world. Especially the Megacorps. Even if you face ten gang factions on a single Megacorp, they could still defeat those gang factions single-handedly.

Blackshot watched the five gangsters standing in front of the hardware as they harrased anyone who passes by.

Blackshot aimed at them and opened fire, taking down one of them. The gangster turned to them and started firing as the team scrambles for cover. They hid to a nearby truck as bullets started to rain at them.

Blackshot turned to Jeth and nods who immediately revealed himself from cover and opened fire at the gangsters. Blackshot covered him as he reloads.

"All clear, let's move!" Blackshot says as he rushed inside the store.

The team followed suit as three men appeared on their left. The team whirled to their direction and opened fire, taking no damage at all.

"This way!" Blackshot says as he led the team straight forward.

The team passes by two shelves as two men appeared on their left. They opened fire, taking them down. Another four on the right but again, they were taken down.

Three men appeared behind them. They opened fire, hitting Eric.

"Argh!" He screamed as he fell on the ground.

He managed to pull his pistol and open fire. The team whirled behind them and open fire, killing their attackers.

"You alright?" Jem asked as he pulled Eric up.

"Yeah, the bastards only pinned the kevlar, not the flesh."

"Good to hear that. Let's move!!"

Blackshot was heading straight foward to staff room since he sensed someone inside who knew where the hideout was.

They have to pass by three more shelves to reach the room. More and more gangsters are pourung in from all sides as they walk further.

Blackshot and the team opened fire at the oncoming enemies in an attempt to drive them away. They stood their ground for five minutes but in the end, they won the gunfight.

"Good job, team!" Jem says.

"Hold your pace, it's not yet over." Blackshot says as he reloaded his gun.

"Killjoy." Jem whispered.

As soon as the team finished reloading, Blackshot asked everyone.

"Ready?"

"Hell yeah!" They all replied.

Blackshot and the team approaches the room. He kicked the door opened and opened fire at the five armed men.

Blackshot approached one of the gangsters and absorbed his memories. After a few seconds, Blackshot warned his team.

"Let's go back to the building, they are going to attack!" He says.

The team was about to leave when Blackshot decided to be left behind.

"I thought we should hurry?" Jem asked.

"Wait for a second." Blackshot says as he grabbed a knife.

He carved the words 'I am coming for you!' in one of the dead guys' chest.

Satisfied, he followed the team as they walked back to building.
