Chapter 13: What Happens Now?

What will happen to the baby?

~~~Present~~~

Hinata is 5 months pregnant, going on 6 now. Only 3 and a half more months to go until she was due. Today was the day she had to get her monthly check-up, to make sure the baby was alright and healthy. Neji had been taking her since Naruto wasn't allowed to be near her at the moment.

Neji didn't agree with their father's decisions about not letting the father near the mother. He, of all people, knew Naruto wasn't the type to abandon his child and responsibilities. He shouldn't have anyway. Naruto was famous so he had the money for it either way.

The older twin called the blonde, waiting for him to answer. The phone rang

~~~Naruto's POV~~~

I was in my bedroom looking at pictures of Hinata and I when my phone rang. I immediately recognized the number as Neji's, Hinata's older twin brother. I sat up quickly, pressing the green button on my smartphone.

"Yea. What's up?" I answered as if I was rushing him to get straight to the point.

"Well, hello to you to bastard." Neji responded

"Hey.. sorry, I'm just anxious. I haven't seen her in a while. Is she okay?"

"She's fine. We're at the hospital now for her monthly check-up. Since I don't believe in that bullshit my dad pulled, I called you. You're the father of my little sister's baby and I won't allow you to not be here for her and the child. Get your lazy ass up and get here. You have 10 minutes."

Before I could say anything further, Neji hung up the phone, ending the call.

~~~My POV~~~

Naruto immediately started to get ready, slipping on a pair of ripped jeans and a red t-shirt with his orange and black jacket that showed his clothing line logo - an orange swirl that meant Uzumaki. He also wore his black converse.

Grabbing his keys from his night stand, he dashed out of his room and went to the front door leaving his apartment. Naruto drove a dodge avenger he had for a few years. It was still in top shape, he took real good care of his things.

About 10 minutes passed before he pulled up at the hospital and parked. Getting out of the car, Naruto jogged his way to the front two sliding doors. Once he entered the building, he glanced around looking for Hinata and Neji until he spotted her sitting down in the waiting area. He grinned as he walked over to her, staying out of her sight.

Naruto placed his hands over her eyes and leaned in close to her whispering in her ear "Guess who." he chuckled slightly, his voice soft and low yet husky. Hinata smiled brightly and pulled his hands from her face as she turned and looked at him. Pulling him into a warm embrace.

"Oh my god! Hey Naru!" she squealed excitedly "I've missed you so much." Naruto wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her, connecting his lips to hers in a passionate, deep kiss.

"I've missed you too Hina.... Neji called me and told me to come. I wouldn't miss this for the world."

Naruto sat down beside her and spoke to the other pale eyed male. "Thanks a bunch.. I owe you one."

"Don't mention it.. I'm serious.." Neji retorted with a slight sigh

Chuckling, the young blonde ran his fingers through his spiked hair. About 10 more minutes passed before the doctor called for Hinata. Naruto stood up and held his hand out for his beloved. She took his hand and stood up as well and then made her way to the entrance of the area they would have to go in.

Once they entered, they'd have to walk down a narrow hallway until they came to their room they'd be getting checked up in. It wasn't a long walk, just about a minute or so. When they entered their room, Naruto helped Hinata get into the bed like chair. He then sat down in the chair next to the bed.

About 5 to 10 minutes had passed before the doctor came in with a clipboard in hand and Hinata's information clipped to it. "Hello Ms. Hyuga. I'm Sarah Oshigaki, your doctor." The doctor wore a blue slacks and shirt, the kind nurses would wear, covered with a white lab coat with her name badge attached to it.

"Hey.. I'm Hinata and this is Naruto." Hinata responded "I would prefer you call my by my first name if that was alright with you."

The doctor nodded in response to her wishes and threw a bright smile at her. Mrs. Oshigaki looked over the papers she had on the clipboard and hummed softly. "Alright.. Well as far as we can tell, you're going on 6 months. Around this time period, you'll start having major mood swings and the skin of your abdomen may ache - it becomes dry as a result of stretching. This will result in stretch marks around your belly. Also, I will need you to come back twice a month, so not next week but the week after. Its necessary for you to visit a gynecologist every time so we could listen to the baby's heart. We want a healthy mother and child. Any questions you have so far?" She explained

Naruto payed more attention that Hinata did and that was the surprising part about it. Hinata looked flustered by the fact she didn't understand any of what came out of the woman's mouth. "Uhh.. I'm sorry. It all just went out of the other ear.." she was beyond embarrassed

"I'll explain it a little later baby." he grinned then turned to Mrs. Oshigaki "When do find out if it's a boy or girl?" Naruto questioned

"We could find out today when we do an ultrasound." She responded

"Alright. How long will that take? I really wanna know. I'm so excited." He showed his bright signature smile. Hinata was excited as well and rubbed her belly smiling, a small grin at the corner of her lips.

"Just follow me and we can get started right away."

Naruto stood up and helped Hinata get out of the bed.. it looked more like a chair, but it was a bed. Holding her hand, he followed the doctor to a room where Hinata would get her ultrasound. Once they entered, the young blonde helped Hina lift her shirt, revealing her belly.

Mrs. Oshigaki slipped on a pair of rubber gloves. Afterwards, she covered Hinata's belly in a clear gel like substance before she began to use the small object that would scan her stomach as it moved around. On the screen it showed black and white pictures of the baby.

"I see the head here.. and the little hands and feet are here." she smiled softly pointing to the body parts. She then came across the private area and grinned slightly.

"Is it a boy or girl?" Naruto asked in excitement

"If you look right here.. You can see that you're having a....."
