Hello again! There's only a couple more chapters until I'm done with season 1! Thank you to all that have read this far, voted, and commented :)

I hold my gun to my chest, my back pressed against the backside of the chair behind me. I try my best to control my breathing as the guy on the stage that was previously pacing suddenly stops. He seems to be looking around when he suddenly shoots his gun a the ceiling, causing some of my classmates to cover their ears and flinch.

"FYI, this room is completely soundproof. You'll all be Swiss cheese long before anyone comes to the rescue." The man says. "Come on, we all know you ain't got the guts for homicide. Surrender like good little boys and girls and we'll go see the-" He is cut off by a gunshot. Judging from the sound, I'd say it was from Hayami's direction so she was probably trying to shoot his gun away from him. The man pauses before pulling out a remote and turning the lights on behind him, temporarily causing us to shy away while our eyes adjust. "This is really shaping up to be a job I can really sink my teeth into." The man says before laughing.

"This is gonna be like a four-star killer cook free for all." The man sneers as he shoots right in between the seats that Hayami was hiding behind. "I never forget and enemies position once they've fired. Acquired that trick in the army. Think of it as battlefield synesthesia. I can echolocate the post of hostile gunfire with pinpoint accuracy and check my own gun by taste." He says. That's a bit weird and I don't know why we need to know this but okay. Also, why do villains always make speeches like this before trying to commit a crime? "Now then, I know there's two more stolen firearms out there." The man says, immediately making me feel very self conscious.

"Stand by Hayami. Hold your positons Chiba and (Y/n), wise decision not to fire you two, well played, our opponent doesn't have a lock on you yet. Hang tight and wait for my signal. I'll keep an eye on him and tell you when it's time to shoot." Korosensei says as the man frantically looks around trying to find the source of the voice, only to look down directly in front of him to see the Koro-ball laughing at him.

"Hey! You in the front row! Don't stare at me!" The man yells as he shoots at Korosensei, only for the attacks to not even leave so much as a dent which makes Korosensei laugh even more.

"A seasoned marksman versus adolescent assassins. Our modest advantage will, I think, be quite enough. Okay Kimura. Run five seats to your left. Terasaka and Yoshida, dash three seats to either side. We've made a blind spot. Kayano, two rows forward and through the gap, go! Karma and Fuwa, move eight seats to your right. Isogai, five seats left." The man narrows his eyes as if he's already won, but then Korosensei starts giving orders by student number and nicknames, which confuses the man. Eventually he gets to us. "Alright. Chiba, (Y/n), the moment of truth is upon us. Get your bearing children. When I give the command, fire at will." Korosensei orders.

"Crap! Where are they?" The man panics.

"Hayami, you're on follow up as needed. Focus on blocking the enemies evasive maneuvers. Now, a word of advice to our coolheaded sharpshooters who flubbed the assassination attempt earlier today." Korosensei says, this time focusing on the other two, but still conveying a similar message to me. "Don't let one failure overshadow the skills you've worked so hard to cultivate. The best of us fall short of our abilities from time to time. You maintain a facade of stoic nonchalance, but feel burdened by the confidence your classmates place in you all the same. Few guess at your inner anguish, but it's there, just beneath the surface. You're not alone in this. You give it a brave face, but you needn't bear the pressure on your own. If you miss the shot, there's a fallback strategy. We'll play hot potato with the guns and continue shuffling everyone until our foe has no idea where the next shot will come from. The reason that strategy will work is because everyone here has tasted the agony of defeat. Yes there's pressure, but your classmates are in the same boat. Learn to take solace in that." There's a pause, allowing us to process Korosensei's words. "Students two and thirteen! Stand and fire now!" Korosensei orders. The dummy's that Sugaya scraped together went up and the man shot at them. The man looked shocked. Me and Chiba used this to our advantage as we kneeled out into the isles next to us and shot at the cables holding the stage light bracket to the ceiling. Perfect.
