Harry Styles.
Friday morning.
...
A rock song playing so loud on the radio that none of us could hear any thoughts running through our head. "Leah's sleeping!" I yell with all my lung capacity. I looked confused around the huge living room, my only purpose being to keep the kid safe. I had no idea of how I got there or who I was yelling at or of who was around me in the room.
"Truth being told, I don't give a fuck about the baby anyways" a raspy voice spat back in a short comment. Shivers went down my spine as I turned around as fast as I could, but no one was there. I could have sworn the voice came from behind me. I felt the danger invade my body and I completely froze, my mind locked on the baby sleeping in her room down the infinite long hallway. "You don't either, you know" the voice spat once again. This time the voice came from above, and I faced up. No one. Nothing. I hyperventilated by now and I just wanted to run to grab the sleeping baby, but my legs were frozen. Trapped.
"You didn't do anything." the voice sounded so manipulative. "If you gave a fuck, you would have done something" Behind me. I turned around. Still no one. "You keep telling yourself that you cared for the baby." I felt my body shake and the tears start to run down my ice-cold cheeks. The room was freezing cold, and I was standing only in a tank top. I looked around me. No one. The voice cut through like a never-ending echo eating up my deepest thoughts. "You never cared, and you know it"
I looked aggressively around me to continuingly find no one and nothing there, but I kept hearing the voice like someone stood right beside me and yelled into my ears. The music was so loud, and I could in the distant hear Leah crying in her bed. I knew she was laying there helpless.
"It was your fault." the voice felt like it was coming closer towards my head.
"It was your fault" I tried to keep breathing. The music pumping in the background.
"It was your fault" tried everything to shut it out. Leah crying in her room still.
"It was your fault" I felt my head starting to explode in anger and anxiety.
"It was your fault" the voice still coming closer as the music getting more upbeat.
"It was your fault" the music stopped out of nowhere. Quiet for a second.
"It was your fault" a whisper said right into my ear sending shivers down my entire body as my heart fell to my feet. I turned around.
By the sight of Amelia standing behind me I almost lost it. The woman was standing there smiling, laughing even. "It was your fault" she whispered smiling at me. Pure evil in her eyes.
She turned around and disappeared into thin air. I heard Leah scream and crying heavier. I couldn't do anything. The hallway was at least 3 miles long and in no way, I could get there before it was too late. I screamed in frustration of being so passive and having no way of saving the one I cared for the most.
I sit up abruptly covered in sweat. Another nightmare. I don't even remember falling asleep last night, but Louis and I watched football in the living room till over midnight and I felt so tired when I finally got to lay my head on the pillow. Maybe I just fell asleep right there and then.
I bring the palm of my hand to dry away the drops of sweat covering my forehead. My chest feels heavy as I sink deeply taking another deep breath. I focus to stop shaking and stay still.
"It was just a nightmare." I tell myself. Over and over again. "It was just a nightmare." Breathe in. "It was just a nightmare." Breathe out. "It was just a nightmare." Breathe in. "It was ju-"
