Ch. 3 - Our Miracle?

Scarlett's POV

I hold my position, feeling utterly useless. I mean I have no means of mobility. 'God, I hope everything is okay...' Worry courses up my body. I hear a loud flare gun, seeing the green smoke appear. I took a breath of relief, they did it...

I see the cadets and my members propel out of HQ with extra supplies. I wave my hand to Adrian in the direction of the other squad members, meaning to worry about them first. I focus my attention back on the strange Titan. He is being cannibalized by the other titans... All of a sudden, with arms torn off, it charges at a particular Titan with blonde hair, it's teeth sinking into the nape.

It lets out an eerie screech, before falling down. The steam is spewing out, I focus my eyes... What looks like a cadet, emerged out of that Titan's nape. 'A Titan shifter?!'

Adrian makes it my roof, carrying a gas tank for my gear and another set of blades. "Everyone is equipped, I told them to retreat until further notice Ma'am." With that said, many of the cadets and my squad are propelling their way to the inner wall. I quickly fill my tank, and sheath my new blades on the holster.

"Adrian, we have to go inform the whole Scout Regiment."

"Of what Ma'am?" I don't answer him... I have to tell Erwin about the discovery. I propel myself to the building and start heading in the direction of the inner wall. With Adrian, close behind me.

We speedily make our way to the inner wall, "There is Captain!" Ryan points out my arrival. I land on the ground, slightly out of breath. I look to see my squad is information with the entire Scout Regiment.

In front of the formation; Erwin, Levi, and Hange on horses. Hange makes eye contact with me, she immediately hops off the horse and sprints in my direction. "Scar! Thank goodness you are okay! Did you see abnormalities that I can bag from my experiments?" I laugh a bit at her comment. Hange pulls me into a tight hug, I flinch a bit but she knows I'm okay.

"That's actually what I wanted to talk to you guys about." I mumble, her hair blowing across my face.

Levi soon follow, "I think we've bagged the craziest abnormal already."

Hange stares with wide eyes at Levi, "Seriously? Where?" She looks around.

Levi touches her head, "Right here." Levi glances back at me, "Glad you made it out alive."

"Or are you just glad to know all your training didn't go to waste on me?"

"I will not confirm or deny that statement." He said with a cold face.

Adrian clears his throat, grabbing my attention at the important news I have to share. "Ma'am."

"Where's Erwin?" I ask, I look past the crowd of soldiers. When I spotted Erwin's tall height, I quickly made my way to him. "Commander, I need to disclose some information to you." Erwin nods and motions for me to walk with him.

I follow him, as we distance ourselves from everyone, "Sir... During the battle, a Titan was attacking its own kind." I see Erwin about to cut me off, but I insist to finish, "A cadet emerged from the Titan's nape.. I believe he is a Titan shifter."

For the first time in my life, Erwin's face is in shock at the information I gave him. He processes the information for a few moments, "We can't publicize this yet. For now, we will help as reinforcements and help to stop any further territory lost. I will go talk to Commander Pixis."

"Yes, Sir!" I run back into the group, I see Hange's patting a free spot on her horse, I go to hop on the back of Hange's horse.

Once we get further into Trost, we switch from horses to ODM gear. "Everyone scream!" I get flashing confused looks by everyone except my entire squad.
