"Uhh, it's just so much drama," Caroline groaned. "Ever notice how the mysterious boy next door with a bad boy rep is always the biggest attention whore?" "Yeah, but we gotta remember, Sam and Dean haven't exactly had the easiest of childhoods," Bonnie reasoned. "I know, I know," Caroline waved off. "I just... I need to know what was so horrible that Dean can disappear for 24 hours and nobody bats an eye, but when one of us do it, it becomes a problem." Bonnie eyed her friend sarcastically. "Um, you do know that they live with my Grams, right? Trust me, she isn't gonna let him off easy," Bonnie replied.

Before Caroline could reply to that, Stefan came over to where they were sitting and asked if they had seen Elena. "Oh, I think she went home," Bonnie answered. Stefan exhaled and tried to mask his disappointment, as he started to walk away. "But I can give you her cell number and her email," Bonnie began scribbling on a piece of paper. "She is big on texting, and you can tell her... I told you so." She then handed over the paper to Stefan, but when their hands touched, she felt a wave of dark energy overwhelm her senses and she jumped back in fright.

Stefan frowned curiously. "Are you okay?"

"What happened to you?" she gasped. Her question was met with awkward silence and she shook herself out of her vision and laughed nervously. "I'm sorry that was rude. Excuse me." Then she grabbed her things and left. "Yeah, she kind of wigs out," Caroline cut in. "It's like her thing."

Later that night after the boys got home, Dean got chewed out by Sheila and was grounded for a month. She said to him, "If you ever pull something like that again, I'll turn you into a cicada and feed you to a bird!" He blanched at her threat knowing full-well that she was daring enough to follow through with it, and nodded vehemently saying, "Yes, ma'am." Then after she scolded him, she pulled him into a tight hug and told him how she was just glad he was safe before leaving to go to bed.

"Well, that went better than I thought," Sam stated after Sheila was gone. "You're tellin' me," Dean scoffed. "I thought she was gonna rip my head clean off my shoulders." "So, anyway... are you going to tell me where you've been for the last 24 hours, or am I going to have to search through Sheila's spellbooks until I find a truth spell?" Sam inquired in his usual "Sam way".

"You aren't going to let this go, are you?" Dean groaned. Sam simply shook his head. "Fine, well, you're bound to find out anyway, it might as well be from me," Dean huffed. "Find out what?" Sam questioned. Dean motioned for his brother to follow him, and they both ended up sitting on the couch, where Dean promptly buried his face in his hands. "I was with Damon Salvatore trying to get something straightened out."

Nothing.

"Wait, so you ditched me to hang out with a murderous vampire?" Sam exclaimed. "Trust me, if I'd had a choice, I wouldn't have gone out at all," his older brother mumbled. "And what is that supposed to mean?" Sam argued. "It means that there are somethings that I'm going through that only he can understand, and I don't want to put you in any more unnecessary danger," Dean countered. "Oh, so hanging out with Damon is at the bottom of that so-called list, but lying to me is at the top?" Sam retorted.

"Sammy--" "DON'T YOU DARE CALL ME THAT!" Sam shouted. Before Dean could reply, the doorbell to Sheila's house rang. Saved by the bell. Dean thought to himself. Dean got up from the couch and went to the front door. When he opened it, he was pleasantly surprised to see Elena standing on his front porch. "Hi, Dean, uh, I was wondering if maybe we could talk?" she asked shyly.

"Uhh, actually I was--" "It's okay, Dean. You can go talk to her. Have a good night, Elena!" Sam chimed in.

"You, too, Sam."

"Night, buddy," Dean waved back to his brother. However, Sam rolled his eyes and walked away. Dean exhaled deeply and said, "Maybe we should talk out here just to be safe."
