I bolted up in my bed gasping sharply. I forced myself to calm down, as I heard Damon shifting over next to me.

Damon.

I quickly glanced over to his sleeping form warily. At least that part of my dream was real. I was about to calm down and go back to bed when I felt a painful throbbing sensation in my neck. Carefully, I pushed my hair to the side and brought a hand up to feel my neck. I hissed quietly, as a sharp pain burned through my skin. I looked into the mirror with wide eyes and fearfully gazed upon the bloody bite mark in the nape of my neck.

My heart was pounding out of my chest as I tried to think of a way out of here without alerting Damon. Then as quietly as possible, I got out of the bed, checking repeatedly to make sure Damon was still sleeping, and cautiously tip-toed over to the door. Suddenly, the floor creaked loudly under my foot, and I silently gasped. Quickly looking over to Damon, I felt myself relax when he was still sleeping. Finally, I made it over to the door and slowly turned the knob. However, decided to take a peek over my shoulder to see if Damon was still asleep, but instead of finding his sleeping form, I saw an empty bed.

"Good morning," I heard him say behind me. I jumped back with a gasp and stepped back toward the bed. "Please, don't," I whimpered, as Damon stalked towards me. His smile, which I once thought was so attractive was now twisted into a hungry sneer. Just then, I felt my hips brush up against the nightstand near my bed. I glanced over to my left and saw the lamp, and so I grabbed it and aimed it at him.

"Don't do that."

But it was too late. I had already swung the lamp at his head. Much to my surprise, however, Damon barely flinched as the lamp shattered to pieces against his face. What remained of the lamp fell out of my hands, as fear swirled around in my stomach. When Damon lunged at me, I quickly dove onto the bed and scrambled to the other side of the room to get away from him. Then, I threw the pillow that I had slept on the night before and tried to make a run for the door. But before I could make it, Damon stepped in my path snarling at me with razor-sharp fangs bared for me to see and purple veins bulging under his bloodshot eyes.

"No, please!" I begged.

At that moment, all I wanted was for someone, anyone, to burst in at the last second and stop him from doing whatever he was going to do to me. I prayed silently that somebody would rescue me before it was too late.

But my plea went unanswered and Damon caught me and threw me back onto the bed, and... well, you all can pretty much guess what happened then, can't you?
