Young Justice: The Dance

Chapter 1: The Mission

Authors Note: Hey Guys! New Young Justice Fanfic. This is a continuation to The Decathalon, if you haven't read it go check it out, but if you just want to read this, it won't be that confusing. I don't own Young Justice, DC, the characters, or the cover. Enjoy.

This is set about three or four days after The Decathalon.

"Dick!" Artemis called from across the grounds of Gotham City Academy. Dick whipped around to find Artimas running towards him.

"I'll see you tomorrow Barbara," he told his red-haired friend

"Bye Dick" she smiled and continued towards the streets for her walk home.

"Hey Artemis," Dick said as she met up with him.

"Hey boy wonder" she smirked

"Stop calling me that" he snapped "I'm Dick right now"

"I know but I still can't get over the fact that we go to school together and you neglected to tell me it was you," she snapped back

"I was waiting for you to figure it out" he smirked "but you didn't so I had to tell you on national television"

She narrowed her eyes at him. "Anyway," she said "I heard Bruce Wanye is funding the school dance this Saturday,"

"Unfortunately yes. He is funding the dance, and since he's got a work thing on Saturday, I have to go to the dance public appearance or something like that, "

"How about you? Are you going to the dance?"

"No way," she said I'm not a dance girl I don't do dresses."

Dick laughed. "I'm shocked"

A beeping pierced their ears as Dick pulled his phone out to see who was calling.

"It's Bruce," he said

Artemis nodded saying it was ok if he took the call

"Hey Bruce"

"We have a mission for the team"

"Artimas and I are on our way," Dick said hanging up "we got a mission" he smirked as the two raced off.

When Robin and Artimas arrived, having changed quickly into their suits, Miss. Martian and Superboy had just arrived as well, they crowded together in the training room waiting for Zatanna and Wally, they didn't have to wait long, the too arrived and Wally came speeding up to Artimas and kissed her cheek. Although Wally was as cheerful as usual Zatanna was not her normal sassy self, she barely acknowledged her team and kept her eyes on the floor, Dick who couldn't help but stare at her was about to ask what was wrong when Batman popped up on the screen in front of them.

"Team" he announced gathering everyone's attention "we are sending you on a covert mission, you are to go and report any abnormally activate. Aqualad will not be joining you on your mission, since he is currently in Atlantis with Aquaman"

"Where are we going?" Robin asked curiously

Batman looked directly at him and said "Gotham Academy"

"My school!" Artimas and Robin cried together

"A student is attending Gotham Academy, James Stone, no image of him has been maintained. He has been working with the injustice league, the league needs you to find him and figure out what he is doing at Gotham Prep, we need to find out what ties him to the Injustice League. And to do that, I'm sending you all undercover, Artemis and Robin already go there making it ideal for them to take the team to the dance on Saturday"
