Chapter 7

"Fuck..."

Jennie reminds herself to leave a good review of the cabin — especially the bed. Expletives leave her mouth as she can't help but angle her back in response to Jisoo's such meticulous touches. Jennie doesn't know what took over Jisoo but she isn't complaining.

The night is truly young as Jennie's body tangles up with Jisoo's for hours, hitting every corner and edge of the bed. The sun comes up as scheduled but the two girls lay still, their breaths complementing each other. Everything is so perfect. Everything is so, so, so peaceful.

Until it isn't.

"What do you mean Soojoo's under BV?"

Jisoo brings up a hand to her forehead while the other tightly holds her phone against her ear.

"It's not out to the media yet, but she's officially signed with BV."

Jisoo holds in a sigh. She can hear the faint sound of the shower running in the bathroom.

"How'd you find this out?"

"I met Soojoo yesterday."

There's a moment of silence. So many questions that run through Jisoo's head. So many that Jisoo cannot put them into words.

"I tried to set it clear to her but she's the stubborn girl she is." Chaeyoung breaks the silence. "I think you need to tell Jennie about her."

Jisoo closes her eyes as a wave of exhaustion quickly hits her. Things are just getting better. Everything seemed perfect...but why is perfection always so ephemeral?

"The model fitting is tomorrow," Jisoo sighs. "I'm assuming I'll be seeing her there...with Jennie too."

"Tell Jennie, okay?"

Jisoo stays mum before letting out a small, "Okay."

"Tell Jennie today, okay?"

"Okay."

The call ends shortly and it leaves a helpless Jisoo sitting on the edge of the bed with her head hanging.

She's going to tell Jennie. She's going to tell Jennie. She's going to tell Jennie.

The sound of the shower comes to a halt and soon emerges a Jennie wrapped in a towel.

"You're up, Jisoo!"

Jisoo turns around at the sound of the melodic voice and is quickly embraced by a side hug from a practically naked Jennie. Jennie squishes her face against Jisoo's as she loops her arms around the older girl. Jisoo chuckles as she returns the hug. And again everything feels perfect again.

"I don't want to leave. I love being here with you."

Jisoo gently caresses Jennie's cheeks in response.

Jisoo is going to tell Jennie. She needs to tell Jennie.

Jisoo needs to tell Jennie.

But not today.

So of course all is not well when Jisoo is introduced to the line-up of BV models come the next day, Monday. With Chaerin to her left and Jennie to her right, Jisoo licks her dry lips as Jennie calls for the models one by one. Model by model, Chaerin attends with her team, leaving Jisoo awkwardly biting her thumb with such nervous eyes. Maybe she should have brought Seulgi and Nayeon with her. 

After the call with Chaeyoung yesterday, the groupchat buzzed with confessions from the two, saying that they also only recently learnt of Soojoo's affiliation with the company partner. A part of Jisoo felt betrayed and angry but those feelings soon vanished and only worry and a hint of fear took over. And then Jisoo realizes why she came alone. She doesn't want her best friends to see her so vulnerable and still affected by Soojoo's presence.
