Part 42

Khushi was seated in her room in front of her laptop waiting for Arnav to accept her video call request which he was taking forever to do, she wondered if he was already asleep.

He never slept without talking to her, he always made sure to talk to her then go to bed, the time difference wasn't an issue for that.

"Hey, sorry I was a bit busy." He said as soon as he accepted the call, he was staring at his phone instead of looking at the screen like he always did.

Something felt weird already, maybe it was just her but his behavior seemed weird today.

"You okay Arnav?" Khushi looked at him curiously.

"Yeah, what would happen to me?" He smiled as he looked at her.

"I don't know I just felt like something was wrong..."

"No, I'm just tired I had a busy day at the college today."

"Oh okay, you can sleep then, we can talk tomorrow." She smiled.

"Okay, I'll talk to you tomorrow, goodnight." He disconnected the call immediately, there was something definitely wrong, his behavior was really strange, it was like he dint want to talk to her, why wouldn't he want to talk to her though?

She grabbed her phone and called Suman hoping that she had an idea on why he was acting this way, she anyway spent her time in college with him so hopefully she had answers to her questions.

"So you finally remember me?" Suman asked as soon as she received the call.

"I called you like two days back okay, stop being a drama queen." She said in a frustration, she couldn't stop wondering why Arnav was behaving like this suddenly.

"I know, I'm kidding relax girl, what's gotten you so moody?"

"My boyfriend. Hey can I ask you something? Promise me to be honest."

"I am always honest with you Khushi, what do you want to ask?"

"Have you noticed anything with Arnav whenever you meet him? I called him just a while back and he seemed like he dint want to talk to me, usually he gets excited and tells me lots of stories and what he did the entire day, today he was just being cold, I don't know, I feel like something's wrong."

"I have no idea, he seemed fine to me."

"I am worried Suman, I swear I felt like he was avoiding talking to me. Maybe he found someone else and doesn't want to be with me anymore." Khushi joked.

She was waiting for Suman to laugh about the joke or tell her there was nothing like that but instead she stayed silent and that just scared her more.

"Suman, why are you silent. Did he meet someone? Is there another girl? Please tell me." Khushi asked worriedly.

"I am not sure Khushi. This new girl Saira, she really seems to be into him, she's always around him, following him everywhere, I even warned Arnav and told her to stay away from her because I felt like she was interested in him, he promised me he wouldn't hurt you, so I guess you have nothing to worry about."

"I talked to her on video call one day when I had called Arnav..." Khushi said remembering her, she was very pretty, of course prettier than her, anyone could get attracted to her.

"Okay Khushi, stop going down that route." She whispered to herself trying to calm down and make herself believe that Arnav couldn't do anything like this to her.

"Don't worry much, it must be something else, I am sure Arnav would never hurt you." Suman said.

"I know, anyway I have to go, I'll talk to you tomorrow?"
