Jungkook was cleaning Yuki's litter box with a disgusted look on his face, when Sienna came out of her room.
She laughed softly at the sight of him struggling.

When he was done, the boy looked at Sienna with a playful look in his eyes. "Were you just laughing at me?" He said.
She decided to go along in his playfulness and answered. "Maybeeee..."
she shrugged and looked at Jungkook innocently. He slowly walked over to her with big strides.

Sienna put her hands up in defense, for she was pressed against the wall and had nowhere to go. Well, she could make a run for it, but Jungkook would just catch her as he was way faster than she was. Jungkook was now so close to her she could practically feel his breath on her skin. He stayed awfully quiet and just stared at her. Sienna's cheeks colored a dark shade of red now that he was so close. Despite the things she'd heard yesterday, she still felt this connection with her roommate and as long as she didn't know his full story, she didn't want to throw that away.

Suddenly, Jungkook went in for the attack. He grabbed Sienna by her legs and threw her over his broad shoulders, easily lifting her weight like it was nothing. He threw her down on the couch and started to tickle her.

"How dare you laugh at me like that!" he yelled sarcastically. Sienna laughed uncontrollably as she tried to fight the boy off.
"Stop, stop, I can't breath" She managed to say through her giggles. Because she was trying to get Jungkook off her, she accidentally hit him in the head.

Her eyes widened as she noticed what she'd just done. While Jungkook didn't even seem to notice, Sienna got in a state of panic. Her breathing got faster by the second and the girl held her arms over her head in a protective manner.
Jungkook stopped tickling her as he noticed something was off. He got off of her and looked on as she curled up into a ball and sobbed.

"Please don't hurt me. I didn't mean to do it. It was an accident." The boy tilted his head, not really knowing what he was supposed to do. He got onto his knees. So instead of towering above her, they were now at an equal level. He hushed her and placed a hand on her head, slowly, making sure he wouldn't scare her with his touch. He gently caressed her head and said "It's okay. I'm not going to hurt you, Sienna."

His voice was soothing and soon the girl's sobs subsided. She slowly let her arms rest again, and looked at Jungkook. He felt for her. There was genuine fear in her eyes. She actually expected she would get hit. The boy helped Sienna sit up straight on the couch and took a seat next to her. As soon as she'd calmed down a little, Jungkook felt himself get angry. "Sienna," he said, his voice still soft, but on the inside he was slowly getting more agitated. "who did this to you?" The girl looked awkward. She wasn't sure if she wanted to explain everything to Jungkook, but he did deserve an explanation for what just happened.

Sienna was saved by the sound of the door bell. The two looked at each other, both wondering who it could be. Jungkook let out a sigh and yelled "Who is it!" "Your favorite hyung," was the answer that followed. The boy groaned and mumbled 'he always has the wrong timing,' he then turned to Sienna and said "We'll continue this conversation tonight, okay?" She nodded as he went to open the door.

Just outside of their apartment stood the boy with the deep voice and wavy hair, Taehyung. He walked past Jungkook without hesitation. "Dude, what are you doing here?" The younger one said, surprised at the fact that he just let himself in without even asking. "Well, I read in our group chat that you were going to the dog cafe today. And I invited myself to go with you." He said nonchalantly. Sienna rolled her eyes, this dude was something else, alright.

Soon, the three of them were on their way to the dog cafe. Sienna walked in between the two boys, kind of feeling awkward that they were joined by Taehyung. Actually, Sienna had been feeling excited about going out of the house with Jungkook. He made her feel a special kind of way, despite the secrets he carried with him. During the time it took to walk to the dog cafe, Sienna got to know Taehyung a little better. He still seemed a little strange to her, but he had a good sense of humor, which broke the ice. Jungkook was glad the two started to get along. He knew Sienna was in danger as long as she was near any of them, but if his hyungs liked her as well, maybe they would let her live in peace. He wasn't used to feeling this way about humans, but Sienna was different. He could be himself around her, and appreciated that a lot. He knew one day he would have to tell her the truth, but until then he just enjoyed the time they spent together.

While waiting for their lunch to be ready at the dog cafe, Sienna took the chance to play with a brown Labrador, leaving Jungkook and Taehyung at their table.

"I get why you like her," Taehyung told his younger friend. "I know it must be difficult for you, but we mustn't let anything or anyone come between us and our mission." Jungkook nodded. It was definitely getting harder for him to focus on their plans when he now had a girl whom he cared about at home, not to forget a kitty that stole his heart. "Or are you having doubts?" Taehyung continued. "No," said Jungkook, not fully convinced of his own answer. "It's just.. Sienna's presence has made it a lot more complicated, that's for sure."

Taehyung moved closer to Jungkook, making sure nobody overheard what he was about to say. "Do you have a plan regarding Tenebris?" "I will go on Thursday. Namjoon's joining me. He insisted I could use an extra pair of hands. I bet he only wants to come because he hopes to see some action again." The two friends laughed. "That sounds like Namjoon, alright. Oh our food is coming."

After eating until she felt like her stomach might explode, Sienna felt satisfied. She'd had fun with the boys and the dogs. When Jungkook had paid and they were on their way back home, Taehyung left. His house was on the other side of the district so he thanked the pair for the good time and slowly disappeared out of their sight.

That night, when the sun had fully set, Sienna and Jungkook had turned off the lights while watching tv. It gave the girl a real cinema feeling, which she loved. After contemplating for a long time whether this was the right time to ask questions, Jungkook turned to Sienna. "Hey, about what happened this morning. We would still talk about that."

Sienna avoided eye contact. She'd dreaded this moment. It was emotional to even think about the past, let alone talk about it. She took a deep breath and looked at Jungkook. His face was only lit by the light that came from the tv. Her heart skipped a beat. "Let me start at the beginning," she said, and started telling her roommate her story.

"When I was fifteen, I met a guy online one day and I fell in love with him. He was 22 at the time. During the first few months of our relationship, everything was fine. We were genuinely in love and I felt safe and protected when I was with him. But that all changed when he came home drunk. I believe by that time we had been together for a year. Somehow, it had gotten in his head that I had cheated on him and despite me saying that I hadn't, he felt I needed punishment."

Sienna fiddled with her hands as she kept her eyes on the floor. "That was the first time he beat me. I was young an naive, because when he said he'd never do it again, I believed him. After that he kept finding all kinds of reasons for me to be 'punished' as he called it. When I was 18 years old, I finally found the courage to leave him."

Jungkook clenched his jaw, trying his to stay calm. "I'm sorry you had to go through that, especially at such a young age."

"Thank you," Sienna smiled "part of the reason why I came to Korea was to get away from him. Living in the same city made me feel anxious every time I left the house."

Jungkook scooted closer to her until their thighs were touching. He smiled slightly as he noticed she was letting him touch her. "Are you afraid of me?" he asked her. "I was at the beginning. I really didn't know what to expect when I first met you. But, I've come to be comfortable around you."

"I'm glad," Jungkook brushed his hair out of his face. Sienna let her head lean on the boy's shoulder. "I'm happy our paths crossed, Jeon Jungkook." She said as she closed her eyes. "So am I." He patted her head.

"I promise you, I will keep you safe..."
