He was the King of Hell, and they would soon find out why

Jungkook felt reborn as the demonic energy from his sword seeped through his body. The whites of his eyes turned black, while his irises became a bright shade of orange. As he lowered his sword and held it close to his body, a cloak of black smoke surrounded him. The angels were obviously taken aback by his power, but their leader told them to hold their positions.

Namjoon and Jungkook exchanged glances. Jungkook smirked and gave his friend a reassuring nod. And with that, Namjoon took a couple of steps back, staying close enough to jump into action if it was necessary, but until then he would leave the action to Jungkook.

It wasn't Jungkook who made the first move. A female angel thought she could catch him off guard by attacking him from the back. She flew swiftly threw the air, a small dagger with a golden handle in hand. Time seemed to slow down as she landed only inches away from the boy. But, before her blade made contact with Jungkook's skin, he vanished. The angel's eyes widened, her blade cutting mere air in front of her. "Has no one taught you manners?"

The deep voice came from behind. The girl's breath hitched and she turned her head to see Jungkook standing not to far away from her. She gritted her teeth. Angels were proud beings, so the fact that he had outsmarted her set her off.

"Attacking from behind," Jungkook shook his head in a sarcastically disappointed manner. The angel saw her chance to try a second time. She spun her body around, her arm with the dagger high up in the air, ready to kill her enemy. Jungkook easily caught it mid air. He moved a little closer to the girl as she tried to free her wrist from his grip and whispered in her ear: "You should acknowledge the fact that I am out of your league, though I appreciate your efforts."

The cockiness in his voice earned a scoff from the female angel. "Are you really willing to die in a fight you knew from the beginning you couldn't win?" The other angels looked concerned, for they couldn't hear the conversation. "Light will always defeat darkness, Morning Star."

"If that is your wish, I shall gladly oblige," Jungkook answered. He still held her wrist with his left hand and with his right, the one that was tightly holding Tenebris' handle, he struck. The long blade pierced the angel's body with ease. The girl looked at her enemy in front of her and coughed. Blue liquid stained Jungkook's white blouse. Angel blood. The liquid dripped down from the wound he had made in her chest, creating a pool of blood on the stone ground.

Rain drops started to fall from the sky, as if it weeped for this girl's death. Jungkook withdrew his sword from her chest, causing her limp body to fall to the ground. She still had a shocked expression on her face, her lips and chin blue from the blood she'd coughed up.

Jungkook and Namjoon both looked unfazed. For them, killing was nothing out of the ordinary. Meanwhile, the angels looked at their leader, the one with the curly hair and long wings. He slowly stepped forward, his chin high in the air. He looked at his enemy, his gaze cold and emotionless. Angels weren't allowed to show their emotions, even though they had plenty of them. He picked up the girl's body and closed her eyes. As the rain poured down upon them, the girl's wings turned to dust. A sign she had failed her duty as an angel. As the angels took a couple of steps back, Jungkook sheathed his sword. The battle was over.

One by one, the angels flew up high into the air, until each of them eventually faded out of sight. The only one remaining was their leader, his curly hair now drenched by the cold rain. "It seems you have won this fight, Morning Star. But believe me when I saw the war is far from over."

Jungkook's eyes were slowly returning to their normal state. His irises became brown instead of orange and the whites of his eyes were no longer black. He turned his back to the angel and said "Dispose of her with dignity, she might have been my enemy, but at least she had courage." And with that the last trace of the angels disappeared, leaving a lurking silence behind.

"Time to go home," Namjoon spoke. His younger friend cracked his knuckles and said "Ahh, I have to admit I missed the action." The two walked back to their car, leaving behind the blue pool of blood that was the only evidence the fight ever occurred. As Jungkook drove back, Tenebris close at his side, Namjoon said "You know you can't keep living like this, right? You're basically living two separate lives." Jungkook nodded as his thoughts wondered off to his roommate. He had a special kind of bond with that girl. One he hadn't had with any human in the thousands of years that he was alive, and one he wasn't willing to throw away so easily. She was dear to him in a way his other demon friends would never understand.

"So what's your plan. The blood moon is drawing closer with each passing day. It's only 3 months away. You know we have to strike then, that is our only chance." Namjoon said. "I know that," Jungkook sounded annoyed, but quickly redeemed himself. "I want to keep Sienna around for as long as it is safe for her. She makes me feel... good." The word 'good' didn't even begin to describe how she made him feel, but it was a feeling that could not be described by simple words. His answer earned a scoff from his friend. "As long as that girl is anywhere near us, she will never be safe. If the angels find out how much she means to you, they will take her out. If she accidentally overhears our information, we'd have to take her out. Either way, there cannot be a happy ending if you keep her around." Jungkook's eyes narrowed, his hands tightening around the steering wheel. "I told you before," he raised his voice as he spoke. "if any of you have the nerve to hurt Sienna, I will throw you into the deepest pit of Hell."

Once Jungkook had dropped his friend off at his house, he made his way back home to Sienna. It was 9 pm by the time he got home. He felt nervous going back to her. What if she asked questions? He knew he couldn't tell her the truth, but as they were building up their friendship, he didn't want it to be based around lies.

Sienna looked over to the door as it opened, revealing her dark haired roommate. He was still wet from the rain, his hair hung in loose strands along his face. She smiled at the sight of him. As she approached him, she noticed the blue stain on his blouse. She wanted to ask about it, but before she could, her cheeks turned bright red. Jungkook's blouse was completely drenched and sticking close to his body, revealing his muscular chest and abs and leaving little to the imagination. The boy kept standing on the mat just in front of the front door, not wanting to get the entire apartment wet. "Shall I get you some dry clothes?" Sienna asked, to which Jungkook happily nodded. "Yes, I would appreciate that." As the girl went to get him new clothes, Jungkook looked at his side, where Tenebris was attached to his belt. He'd put a glamour over it so Sienna wasn't able to see the sword.

The girl quickly returned with a pair of sweatpants and a black hoodie. She'd also brought a towel for his wet hair. Without too much thought, Jungkook started unbuttoning his blouse. He was already half way when Sienna noticed. She couldn't help staring for a second, but then quickly turned her back to him, feeling embarrassed. "Just.. tell me when you're done."

Jungkook laughed. "You're allowed to see, you know" He decided to tease her. And it definitely worked. The girl's cheeks became an even brighter shade of red as she shook her head. "I know you want to"

"Jeon Jungkook, just put on your damn clothes!"

"Okay, I'm done"

Sienna walked up to him again and tried to hand him the towel she'd brought. Jungkook stood with his wet clothes in hand and shrugged before saying. "I've got my hands full. You'll have to do it." The boy kept a poker face, but Sienna could see in his eyes he was enjoying this. Giving in, she said "Okay, just get down a little so I can reach your head." Jungkook obeyed, spreading his feet until he was at the same height as her. While she focused on drying his hair, he couldn't take his eyes off her. Her dark eyebrows that frowned when his hair didn't want to cooperate. Her nose the scrunched up whenever she laughed. Her green eyes that stood out so beautifully against her black hair. The way she cared for Yuki, and the way she cared for him, despite her past traumas. He admired her.

Everything about her was so perfect to him.
