"I'm the owner of you now, Mariah." those words persisted to infiltrate my mind, his low enthused voice whispering into my ear, knowing that he had the ability to dictate my movements.
The rooms where all the workers of the manor were sent to after doing their jobs were old prisons. Expired dungeons that were briefly cleaned out so they appeared somewhat habitable, hidden beneath the floors.
"What a dick." was the first thing I said to Odette when I shut the door.
"What did he do?" she asked, as she was unpacking her bag.
"Well for a start he pushed you, was rude to me and now he thinks I'm his property like for fuck sake I'm only supposed to be cleaning!"
"Money Mariah, think of the money." She reminded me, placing her self next to me.
"I don't even know how much we are getting paid but nothing could be enough to make me enjoy this."
I tried to find something, anything to occupy myself with to keep me from going insane. Not even a bit of thread was left to play with for entertainment.
"Oh, and in twenty minutes I have to be in Draco's room," I added with a sigh.
"Be careful." She warned.
"I'll be fine, he's just a stupid little boy with a lot of money and an even bigger ego." I said, taking a few steps towards a cracked bit of glass in the wall that was our window.
If I looked close enough I could trace the faint outlines of branches dancing freely in the subtle wind.
They were free.
I was jealous.
"You've got your uniform already. It's on your bed " Odette informed me.
"Wonderful." I laughed.
I had to remove a few crawling cobwebs that were also roaming on my bed before I could pick up my uniform.
My apparel consisted of a black top with a frilly, white-collar as well as a skirt that was rather short.
