He said it so quietly that it could've been a whisper, but although the curse was softly spoken, the light that sparked from the tip of the wand was clear.
The unforgivable curse...
"Crucio."
My breath was paused, confined in fright.
Afraid.
I was led beside Draco, gazing down at the blood trickling out of his nose and onto the side of his jaw.
Despite what lack of care we had for each other I couldn't just leave him like this. I knew I had thoughts about him being hurt by Riddle but they were just thoughts out of vengeance. A what-if scenario.
As soon as Tom asserted the curse, my eyes shut, a way of preparing myself.
It didn't matter if he was aiming for Draco or me, or even both of us, he did it. He still did the unforgivable curse.
Thinking of the worst, I was then roughly tugged on my arm. The grip was loose, tired almost, but still firm enough for me to be guided into whatever direction I was pulled in.
Their hand was cold around my arm, reflecting the goosebumps I had out of fright.
My body was quickly rolled to the side out of the way from the curse, making my face skim across the floorboards.
My eyes were still shut. Still scared.

A familiar, weak body pressed against mine, on top of me. I could feel one of their arms holding the top of my head protectively and tucking it into their chest to hide me away from the dangers. While the other arm was next to my shoulder, stopping me from being exposed to anything harmful again.
Both of our bodies were tremulous, however, the one on top of mine was significantly weak. I could register their torso shaking above mine to hold themselves up as they used their body as a shield for mine.
Finally, I opened my eyes to see that Draco was the one that saved me from the curse. Removing us both from Riddles target range.
