Chapter 24

Maya's POV:
I couldn't stop thinking about Lucas since I left. My whole life I only wanted someone to care for me but now it doesn't matter. I want Lucas to be safe. I love him a million times more than I love myself.
I scream into my pillow. Suddenly someone knocks on my door. I get up and answer the door. It's Connor. I let him in and we sit on the couch.
"Why?" He asks.
" I'm destroying him, it would be selfish of me to choose myself over someone whose worth so much more." I tell him
"Maya, Lucas is at home in tears crying that he let the best thing in his life get away. You're only destroying him by leaving."Connor says as he gets up and leaves. I walk back to my room and lay on my bed.
----------- time skip to school the next day------
Riley's POV:
I get to school and spot Farkle. I walk over to him.
"Lady" he says.
"Farkle" I reply.
"Have you seen Maya and lucas anywhere" I ask curiously. I haven't spoken to them since the Jameel thing.
"No they're probably making out somewhere" he says laughing.
I flash a smile at him "you're probably right". Just then Maya comes up to us alone.
"Where's Lucas?" Farkle and I say at the same time. Maya bites her lip and looks at the ground.
"We broke up" she whispers.
"WHAT? WHY?" Me and Farkle scream.
"Maya why would you do that you love him so much" Farkle says
" That's exactly why, I love him too much to have him get hurt because of me" she says tearing up. She walks off to class without another word. When the bell rang we were all in class. All but one. Lucas wasn't. Once school was over maya headed straight home. Farkle and I had plans. Important ones.

Farkles POV:
After school me and Riley took the subway to Lucas's house. When we got there Connor answered the door and led us to Lucas's room. It was dark and Lucas was under a pile of blankets.
"Hey buddy" Riley says.
"Do you guys hate me too?" Lucas asks
" Lucas, Maya doesn't hate you she loves you" I assure him.
"Doesn't seem like it" he says from under his blankets.
" You are all she ever talks about it kinda makes me jealous"Riley admits.
"Thanks but I'm gonna take a walk I need to clear my head" Lucas says getting up.
"Alright bye" Riley says. Then we leave.

Lucas's POV:
After Riley and Farkle leave I head out for a walk. I'm walking past a deli when a guy sees I'm upset.
" you ok kid? You looked stressed" he asks.
"My life sucks right now" I tell him
"Here have this" he says handing me a bottle. I open it up and gulp it down.The guy walks away and I go back home. About halfway down I trip over a garbage can. I finally get home and lay in the hammock in my backyard. I feel really dizzy.
