Your P.O.V.
Gene and I stood in Lucinda's living room. It was really bright in here due to the light coming in through the windows. The windows were open, letting a somewhat cool breeze into the room. I guess that the weather was so hot today that even the wind was warm.
"So these are the things you bought at the mall," Lucinda said giving me five shopping bags to hold in one hand, "And that's your backpack with your phone and other belongings." She handed me the backpack to hold in my other hand.
"Thank you so much for keeping them safe with you," I said, "but I remember having only four shopping bags."
"The fifth one is a present from me." She winked.
"Are you sure?" I asked, "You were nice enough to take my stuff with you and pay for my meal, you don't need to give this to me."
"Don't worry. It's a bit small for me anyways."
"Oh okay. Thank you. Wait. While I'm here I'll pay you back for the food." I said placing the shopping bags on the floor so I could open my backpack and take out my money.
"It's fine Y/n. Consider that a present too."
"Stop arguing with me on this. How much did you pay for the meal?"
"I can't seem to remember." She looked to the ceiling, trying to keep a straight face.
"Lucindaaaa. If you don't tell me I'll have no choice but to give you all my money."
"Y/n, I know you're currently unemployed. Don't waste your money. Besides you can repay me when we go shopping again some day."
"Fine." I fought the urge to roll my eyes and put my money back into the backpack.
"On a more serious note, there's something I need to ask you about."
"What is it?"
"When you left, we went to my house for a sleepover with the rest of the girls. I'm sure you're aware of this. However during the night, some bald man started knocking on the door and was asking where you were. He kinda broke the window and attempted to attack but Katelyn punched him and held him down while we called the cops. They said he was a wanted criminal. Do you know that man?"
"Bald and aggressive? That sounds a lot like..." Gene trailled off.
"Ugh. My father." I facepalmed.
"I didn't know." Lucinda replied.
"It's okay. What a problematic son of a bitch that old man is. Don't worry Lucinda, you did the right thing. There was a whole drama involving him. It's really a story for another time." I explained.
"Well I have time. If you ever want to spill the beans you know where to find me."
"I'll keep that in mind. I'm really sorry about what he did. If I see him again I'll make sure to beat some sense into him or something. I'll pay for your window too."
"The window is already fixed, don't worry," she smiled, "but it would be appreciated if he never did that again."
"Okay. Thank you for telling me this. And thank you for minding my stuff and the extra shopping bag again."
"It's really no problem. But if it will make you feel any better, remember that in exchange for my kindness I'd love to hear all this drama going on in your life some time soon." Lucinda said and quickly glanced at Gene. The look she gave him wasn't a particularly friendly one. I wonder what that was about.
"I'll keep that in mind too. Now we should probably get going. There's actually someone else who's waiting to talk to me."
I took my phone out of my backpack and put it into the back pocket of my jeans. I put on the backpack and picked up the shopping bags from the floor.
"Alright. Make sure you ask if you ever need any more help with anything." She said and proceeded to walk us to the front door. We said our goodbyes and Gene and I left.
"Before we go home there's actually another place I need to go if you don't mind." I said to Gene.
"And where is that?" He asked.
"The mall."
"Why?"
"Well I don't know if you still remember but I left Aphmau's heels somewhere near there. I want to return them to her."
"Oh right."

When we came back home Sasha, David, Dante and Travis were waiting for us in the kitchen. Sasha and Travis were having a bowl of ice-cream. We have ice-cream?
"What the hell took you so long?" David asked with an annoyed tone.
"None of your damn business. Now what was it that you wanted to discuss again?" I questioned.
"I know that I should have told you earlier but our father escaped from prison a few days ago."
"I'm aware."
"Oh. Okay--"
"Did you know he's back in there again?"
"Since when? How do you know?"
"Since last night. He attacked my friends at Lucinda's house so they called the police and they took him away again."
"Oh."
"Why do you sound surprised? You know, you and mom aren't the only ones that know about what he's been up to. Stop leaving me out of this. Clearly I'm the one that's gonna be in most danger if he escapes again so it would be nice if you let me know about these things before he shows up."
"O-oh. Yeah, okay, you've got a point. Sorry about that."
"Great. Gene told me you're currently thinking of a plan to get rid of our father. May I ask what you're thinking of doing?"
"I've found enough evidence on some of his... doings... that should be enough for him to be sentenced to death."
"You mean he'll be like... executed?"
David nodded.
"Oh. Okay I see. Executions always seem a little harsh."
"Heheh," he let out a nervous laugh, "you have no idea what sorts of things he has done."
"Can you tell me?"
"You won't sleep for weeks. And as your older brother, I care about your sleep. Therefore I shall not disclose this information to you."
"Come on, I can handle it. Just tell me one thing then."
"Murder. Please don't ask me for any details if you don't want me to throw up on your floor."
"Is it that bad?"
David's face went noticeably paler and he nodded.
"Okay, anyways. Is that all you wanted to discuss?"
"Pretty much, yeah. If anything else happens I'll text you. Also you should go see mom, she's been wondering how you are. I think she'll also be rather pleased to hear that Gene survived after all."
"She doesn't know yet?"
"Nope. You know her. If I told her she'd instantly spill the tea to Gene's mother. I wanted him to tell her himself seeing as he had a reason for not telling us for a while either, whatever that reason may have been."
