After the declaration of independence there was a period of peace that lasted a few weeks: the members of L'Manburg had a lot to rebuild, while the members of the Dream SMP had to upgrade their weapons and armour to make sure no one could overrun them. Tommy had time to fix the embassy, Tubbo built some decorative buildings near the black and yellow walls, Wilbur and Fundy repaired the van and the damage caused by the explosions, and in no time L'Manburg and its members were as good as new.
As Dream previously said, two new members joined the server during the peacetime. Jack and Niki. Jack arrived first, but it certainly cannot be said that his arrival was uneventful. At first it was all going well: Tommy and Tubbo were giving him a tour of the server and the main buildings, and once that was done, Jack helped them add a road to the Prime Path leading to their independent nation.
Then the mess started. Dream tried to bribe Jack to join the Dream SMP by offering him extremely rare materials, such as diamonds and netherite ingots. Not having chosen a side yet, Jack thought about it a lot. But in the end Tommy and Tubbo convinced him to refuse the offer and join L'Manburg.
When Niki joined, she was already wearing the L'Manburg uniform, and Wilbur was more than happy to see her with it. Although Niki's arrival made less sense to the name of the nation, no one seemed to notice, she was friends with all the members of the server, regardless of the nation she belonged to. In fact, when Wilbur told her they hated Eret and even after telling her why, she remained neutral to the situation.
Having arrived after the war, Jack and Niki were welcomed on both sides but while Niki remained nice to everyone, Jack made it clear which side he was on, swearing at Eret repeatedly. Wilbur wrote the L'Manburg anthem and Niki designed the flag since none of the men had been able to do it.
After that, things started going wrong, and it was Sapnap's fault.
<<A fox!>> Niki put her hands on her cheeks with her eyes sparkling with joy <<Oh my God Fundy... it's the best gift I've ever received!>>.
A red fox was tied to a leash near the bed in Niki's house, which she had built in a short time after joining. Fundy was holding the leash with a satisfied expression <<I found it the other day in the forest while I was helping Tubbo to gather some wood>> he explained as he handed the leash to the girl <<We got along right away>>. Niki laughed at the obvious statement and bent down to cuddle the animal <<I'll call it Fungi, in honour of my favourite fox>> Fundy blushed, looking away from the lovely scene <<You're too kind Niki...>>.
It didn't take long for the "pet war" to begin.
<<Please Tommy, tell me you're just messing with me!>> Niki clung to the sixteen-year-old's shirt, tears running down her cheeks. Tommy wrapped her in a hug trying to comfort her <<I'm sorry Niki, Sapnap killed Fungi, and then he also went to kill my cow Harold>> he gritted his teeth <<That damn bastard...>>.
Niki's head lifted from Tommy's chest to look him straight in the eye <<That fox was everything to me, I need you to help me get my revenge>> The boy didn't want to be in Sapnap's place at that moment, Niki who was usually the most adorable person in the world was almost frightening him.
He swallowed and then nodded quickly <<I already have a plan in mind. Sapnap and George have two pet fish, we can take revenge on them!>>. Niki stepped back with a stunned expression <<No! I don't want to kill their pets, I don't want enemies, I just want an apology>> her kind side was back and Tommy exhaled with relief. An angry German is scary no matter how nice she usually is.
