Friday, 3:02 am

Hearing a beep beep beep to start my morning was probably the very thing that put me into such a grumpy mood this morning. Well, grumpiness and anxiousness. It's been so long since I've been to Florida, about three years or so. Don't get me wrong, I love where I live right now, but I always wished I lived somewhere warmer.

Putting that thought aside, I aggressively turned off my alarm. The time was 3:02 am. Well, it's worth it. My flight had been moved——well our flight——from 8:00am to 5:30am, meaning I would arrive in Florida around 9 to 10 am. There was just one problem though.

This was a trip my family had planned for quite some time. Yeah, I still live with my family, and yeah I am 19, what about it? Anyways, they had been planning this trip practically since October last year. And now it was finally happening. We would be spending a whole week in a luxurious beach resort in St. Pete's Beach (in a family suite, no less). It was a trip I desperately needed. Some change of scenery, finally. Everything was going to plan——except when it didn't.

My dad had been in charge of booking airport tickets, and instead of picking the airport in Tampa, he chose the one in Orlando on accident. An airport that was a one and a-half hour drive if you were lucky. Traffic was crazy in Florida. Plus, it was Winter break for my state and a few states around us, so who knows how crowded Florida could be.

My dad had apparently selected the Orlando airport accidentally because that was the last airport in Florida we went to. The last time three years ago was a trip to Disney World, a theme park I loved.

It was a minor bump in the road, but it would be fine. We would arrive at the hotel around lunchtime, get some food, and just chill for the rest of the day. A day wasted of just driving, but who doesn't like a good road trip, right?

I sat up in my bed, rubbing my eyes and groaning. It's fine, Y/N. Just take it slow today- I said to myself, until my train of thoughts were interrupted by my door busting open.

"ARE YOU UP? ARE YOU UP?" sung the girl. That was Beth. My younger——and much more energetic——10 year old sister. I really have no clue how she has so much energy. My dad had always joked that she ran on a battery. Super hyper during the day, out like a light during the night.

"Yeah, I'm up, Beth." I groaned.

"Well, good. Dad said to be in the car in fifteen minutes."

"Fifteen?! I can't get ready in fifteen minutes!"

"Why? I'm already ready. You should've waken up earlier, like me."

"Woken. And besides, it's 3:00 am in the morning!" Beth paused and checked her Hello Kitty watch.

"No, you dumbo. It's 3:04am. Cant you tell the time, you have a phone."

"Ugh, just——go." I finally say, and she exits my room. I crawl out of bed, hobbling over to the closet. I thank whatever god possessed me to prepare an outfit before hand last night. I slip it on, fix my rat's nest I call my hair, and rush into the bathroom for my other necessities.

By the time I have my handbag and suitcase trigger behind me, I'm already in the backseat of my family's car. I huffed, after running so quickly trying to get inside in time. My entire family was in the car, waiting for me.

"So? Did I make the cut? What's my time?" I asked out of breath.

"Fourteen minutes. Good job, trooper." my dad responded. I groaned at the dumb nickname.

"What's my time? Really, Y/N? You've been hanging out with Dream too much." said Beth.

"Shut up." I said quietly, making sure our parents couldn't hear me. The car moved forward, the bright beam of the headlights shining onto the dark road ahead of us.

~time skip~

We made it to our flight on time, and were now in the sunny paradise of Florida. I sighed happily once I stepped outside, feeling the pleasure of the warm sun on my skin. It's been so long since I've felt this type of weather. We stopped at a bench, and my dad place his suitcase next to it.

"Alright guys, I'm gonna go get the rental car. It'll take maybe fifteen minutes or so." he instructed.

"Got it. C'mon girls," my mom nudged, and we sat down on the concrete bench. Beth with her IPad in hand, didn't mind as she continued watching Moana, her all-time favorite movie. But not for me. Call me Peter Parker, cause I didn't feel so good. My throat was patched and I was already coming down with a small headache.

"Mom, is there any water left?" I croaked.

"Well, there is. But it's all warm and chunky. You want it?"

"Ew, no." I stood up to look around for a water fountain, but instead found something better; a Starbucks.

"Mom, can I go get some Starbucks? Please, I'm parched."

"Okay, fine. Don't take too long." Yes! I put the handbag back on and crossed the street to where I saw the Starbucks. I wasn't surprised to see that it was also relatively packed, other people were dying of thirst too. I got in line and patiently waited for my turn.

"Hi, what can I get for you?" said the man behind the counter.

"Hi, one f/c/d, please."

"Anything else?"

"Nope, that'll be all."

I paid for my drink and went over to idly stand by the pick-up center. There was a woman however searching from behind the counter, searching for someone. She also had a drink in her hand. Oh, looks like someone forgot to pick up their drink, I thought to myself.

"Clay?" She called out. A tall guy, easily over six feet with dirty blonde fluffy hair and a black hoodie stood up and took quick strides over to the counter.

"Sorry, I didn't realize." he apologized to the lady.

"No problem. Have a good day, sir."

"Yeah, you too." he said. His voice sounded so familiar, I just couldn't put my finger on it. He turned to exit, but almost walked straight into me.

"Oh, I'm sor-" he began, but stopped mid-sentence, staring me down. Um, what the hell is with this guy? Does he recognize me? Ohhhhhh, he's a fan. Y/N, you're just an idiot.

"Y/N?" he asks. My eyes widened. Most fans would ask that if they spotted me in public, but this guy was no fan. I know where his voice was from now, I should've recognized it earlier.

"Dream?" I question back. There's an awkward silence that falls between us. Shit. Was that guy not Dream? Even though I had know the guy for a good few days now, he never mentioned anything about his real name or appearance. Or where he lived, either. But to my surprise, he responded.

"...yeah?"
