Friday, 10:01 amI couldn't believe my eyes. It was Dream. THE Dream. The guy I'd been talking to for the past few days right here in front of me. I wasn't sure what to say next. What else do you say to a dude you've only ever played a block game with that isn't in fact faceless?
"Um..." I muttered out.
"Yeah. Um, surprise...?" Dream said, waving a hand around his face.
"Your face..." I mumbled without thinking.
"Yeah, I know, not what you were expecting, or..?"
"No, it's so pretty." I spoke. I slapped a hand to my mouth in shock. Did I just say that? "Um, I mean, not pretty, well I don't mean ugly, your face is pretty, just like, it's not like——I'm rambling, aren't I?" I continued. Dream chuckled at me.
"Um, thanks." he smiled bashfully.
"Y/N?" called out the same lady. Whoops. I wasn't paying attention.
"Hi. Sorry." I said, grabbing my drink.
"It's fine." she said politely. I turned back to where Dream was, still standing where he originally stopped.
"Hey, um, do you have somewhere to go, cause I'd love to catch up." he asked. I checked my watch to see that I had been gone for almost ten minutes, and my dad might already be there.
"Oof. No, not really. My dad will be ready to pick us up any minute." I replied.
"Oh, okay. Can I um-have your number though? To text, obviously. Easier than over Discord and DM's." he added quickly.
"Yeah sure, you can just put it into my phone." I reached for my phone on my back pocket and clicked it open, handing it to him. He input some numbers into the device, and handed it back to me. He had put in his contact name as "Dream 😎🆒🟩". I scoffed at the stupid name.
"Anyways, it was nice bumping into you, Y/N." he said, turning towards the door. I followed him, I had to exit as well. Before he turned down an opposite road to mine, he turned back to me.
"And, hey." he quipped, grabbing my attention.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"Happy Valentine's Day." he said slyly, smirking as he walked off. That's right. It was Valentine's Day today. I hadn't realized.
It was Valentine's Day, the holiday of love, and I bumped into Dream. Wonder if that means something.
Shut up, Y/N. He probably has a girlfriend, wishing you a Valentine's Day like his girlfriend had earlier this morning. said one voice.
Yeah, but there wasn't a girl with him in Starbucks. protested another.
Maybe she's just at home and he's picking up a drink for her. the first voice came again.
Ayo, annoying voices in my head; are we even sure Dream isn't gay for George? came a third voice. Suddenly they had all shut up. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was the correct conclusion.
I reached back to the bench where my mom and sister still were, and a black car coincidentally rolled up to the curb as soon as I reached the bench. The window rolled down, revealing my dad's face.
"Where'd you go, Y/N?" he asked, noticing the drink in my hands.
"Starbucks." I answered.
"Ah. Anyways ladies, pile in." he said. Beth was eager to get inside a new car, strapping herself into the seat and continuing her movie. I had snuck a peak to see what part she was on, and saw that she was at the part where they entered the Realm of Monsters. I helped mom haul the luggage into the trunk of the car, and slammed it shut. Now was the time for a long-ass drive. Thankfully, my phone was at 84%. I had mostly slept during the flight, and listened to music for the rest of it. I buckled myself up in the backseat, and my dad sped off onto the road, thus starting our 2 hour road trip. I opened my phone to see that it was still left on Dream's contact profile. I chewed my lip lightly, and pressed the message icon.
