Halloween
9:25pm

I woke up with a start as sun poured into my room. It's Halloween! I loved Halloween. Obviously, I wasn't going to trick or treat because of Covid, but we were going to do something different. Clay and I's plan was to go to Target, buy a stupid amount of candy, and watch Hocus Pocus and the Nightmare Before Christmas all night. What Clay didn't know is that I planned a costume. Nothing too big, something else. The package had came in yesterday, I snuck it in before Clay could see it. I planned to surprise him with it.

I went into his apartment to eat some breakfast like I always do, but froze as he came out of the bedroom, yawning as if he just woke up. I guess he did, I expected him to be awake. But that's not the reason I froze.

He was completely shirtless.

He strode out groaning in his gray sweats, making it to the kitchen island.

"G'mrning, Princess."

"Hey." I say, my eyes still locked onto his chest. He looks up at me, trailing his eyes to where I'm staring.

"Why are you looking at my chest, Y/N?" he smirks slyly. I realize my gaze and shake out of it.

"Sorry, I just, I- I uhm-" I stuttered, locking eyes with him.

"Simp." he says simply, turning to the stove.

"Shut up, you're the simp." I answer. His shoulder blades move up and down as he grabs eggs from the fridge, preparing to make an omelette. Fuck, even his Goddamn back is attractive. I wonder how it would feel if I had my hands were trailing the lines on his back. I give into the imagination, heat forming in my stomach. What the fuck, I' m literally just imagining this. He's right, I'm a simp.

He finished the omelettes, sliding me one across the island. He strides over to my left, taking a seat next to me, stabbing his fork into the meal.

"What should we do today?" I propose, breaking an awkward silence between us.

"Um, there was a Go-Karting thing I saw. We can do that." he replies.

"Hell yeah! That sounds really fun. I'm gonna beat you."

"Yeah, right."

After breakfast, I retreat back into my apartment into the bathroom where I had my "costume" planned out.

I looked at the materials spread out on the bathroom counter. Black leggings. A lime green hoodie. A diamond sword. Black combat shoes. Black fingerless gloves.

And a White Smiley Face mask.

I'm cleaning my room up when I hear my front door unlocking and shutting. Clay's here.

"I'm in my bedroom!" I call out. I hear shuffling footsteps to my door, and brace myself waiting for his reaction as the door handle churns.

It's his turn to freeze as he sees me in my costume. If it wasn't obvious, I was dressed as him. Well, a girl version of him I guess. My combat boots added a bit of height onto me, and the plastic diamond sword safely secured behind me diagonally in a leather strap that went over my chest. He stares me up and down, not saying anything.

"What?" I ask obliviously.

"You look adorable, princess." he says softly. A blush creeps onto my face. He ushered me out of my room , signaling for me to go to couch. I sit on the couch and Clay plops next to me. He then suddenly raises his fingers up to my cheek, softly grazing his fingertips along my jaw. His other hand raises to the mask, pulling it down onto my face. My entire face is now covered by a smiley face mask.
