A sudden stop knocked Subject 3 out of his slumber and made him slightly dizzy. It took him a moment to remember what had happened before the back doors of the truck opened up. The squad leader put a bag over his head and guided him out of the truck. After walking for about 5 minutes, they entered a building and Subject 3 could hear the chitter of multiple ongoing conversations.
"We need to see Captain Rambeau," The squad leader said as they stopped.
"She's expecting you in her office," A voice responded and they started walking again. They stopped for a few moments and Subject 3 heard a beeping sound before the hiss of mechanical door sliding open. The area on the other side was cold, and quiet, a stark contrast of the area they had been in previously. It was so quiet Subject 3 could hear the sound of his abnormally fast heartbeat. After making a sharp right, they walked for a few more steps and stopped again. He heard the squad leader knock on a door before a "Come in!" from the other side.
"Capitan," Subject 3 heard the squad leader salute as they stepped into the room.
"What are you doing, take the bag off their head," Subject 3 heard a different voice say. It was the same one that had told them to come in. The bag was swiftly removed from Subject 3's head and he blinked a few timed due to the change in brightness. In front of him, on the other side of a desk, was a dark skinned woman with a voluminous head of hair parted to the side.
"Is that a kid?" The woman asked. Subject 3 contemplated explaining himself but decided to stay quiet until he was asked to speak.
"Did you guys kidnap someone!" The woman added, her voice quickly becoming agitated.
"We didn't kidnap him, he emerged from the forest," The squad leader clarified.
The woman looked away from the squad leader, closely examining Subject 3. He felt her eyes on him and just smiled awkwardly.
"What's your name kid?" She asked softly.
"Uhh Danny... Ma'am," He responded, maintaining his awkwardness.
"Ok Danny, why were you in that forest?" The woman asked and Danny simply shrugged his shoulders.
"Where are your parent?" The woman asked.
"Not sure, never met them," Danny responded.
"Alright Agent Brand, can you complete your mission report, I'll handle the interrogation and get him some new clothes," The woman said and the squad leader Danny now knew as Agent Brand walked out of the office. It was only then that Danny noticed he was still wearing the tattered remains of his Hydra uniform.
A few minutes of silence later, Agent Brand returned, unlocked Danny's cuffs and handed him a baby blue and black long sleeve t-shirt with the same logo he'd seen on the truck, black cargo pants and black combat boots.
"You can change in there," The woman said, pointing to a door on the left. When Danny entered, he saw it was a bathroom. He quickly changed out of the torn clothes and into the new ones. Surprisingly, they fit him almost perfectly. The sleeves of the T-shit were a but long but he wasn't complaining. Danny took the chance to look at himself in the bathroom mirror. His face had specs of grime and dust on them so after washing his hands, he used them to splash some water on his face. He also took the chance to clean up his hair a bit. It was black with a slight tint of blue but at the moment it looked more like a bush of twigs. When he was done, Danny returned to the office where he was cuffed again.
No words were said as the woman and Agent Brand escorted Danny out of the office. Five minutes of curiosity passed for Danny but he couldn't creep his mouth shut any longer.
