"Do you guys understand why you should never take love for granted?" I asked while standing up. All the children nodded their heads, probably confused but going with the flow. I nodded my head and said goodbye to them before going to the flower shop.
"Can I have some white lilies please?" I asked while handing the owner a slip of money from my wallet. She took it before handing me the beautiful flowers. I thanked her before exiting the store, heading towards my destination.
I knelt down beside the grave breathing in and out, trying to calm my heartbeat. "Hey Bao. I miss you a lot. More than what I thought was possible. I hope that you feel the same way. Even if you aren't with us anymore. I hope that you can hear me. I hope that you're watching us from above." I knelt down and kissed his tombstone, not caring if dirt got in my mouth. "I love you Bao. And I should have shown it better when we were together. I never knew that missing someone would hurt this much. But I guess that there's a time to try everything... right?" I talked on and on about my life now and how I missed him. By the time I finished, it was dark. I stood up, leaving the flowers near the grave. "I'll be back tomorrow, my little sunshine."
