"Jinhai, if I were to die, what spirit animal do you think that I'd be?" He asked while looking up from the stand underneath me.

I acted like I was thinking before speaking. "You'd be a little piggy. My piggy." I grabbed his shoulders and started massaging them.

"But pig's are so messy. I hate it when people are messy." A pout slowly formed on his lips.

"You don't have to be that messy. You can be a clean piggy." I reasoned with him, ruffling his hair. He nodded his head before pointing towards the water.

"Look Jinhai! The dolphin show is starting soon!" He sounded excited as he started jumping around. I held his body in one place before whispering.

"Calm down baby. It's not like the dolphins will just disappear." His head bobbed up before he looked back at the body of water, the lights dimming.

I could feel the sand underneath my toes, warming up my body. A deep breath made its way into my lungs, filling me up with salty air. A tear rolled down my cheek, but I quickly wiped it away. I will not cry. I watched from the side as the dolphins jumped up and down, splashing water everywhere.

The crowd cheered as the dolphins landed, finishing their act. People slowly started dispersing, leaving me alone. I walked up towards the edge and sat down, my eyes staring at the dolphins happily playing.
