𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 FIVE ・*:·. ⇌ ஜ .·:*Julianna almost forgot how much she hated the capital.
Almost.
She's been to the capital more times than she could count, and each time she feels more and more like she's being suffocated. The rest of her prep team greets her with bone-crushing hugs, and there's already a glass of wine placed in her hand. She watches as Quinn converses with a smile so wide it lights up the entire room.
Julianna has always envied Quinn, ever since she was a child. The blonde woman was nearly 50 years old and she looked as though she just stepped out of grade school. There were never any blemishes on her face, no wrinkles or dark circles around her eyes. Her eyes, always so filled with admiration and love. As if she were seeing color for the first time– Julianna wishes she could see the world through her eyes. She was always so kind, so gentle.
Quinn was everything Julianna wishes she could be.
Enzo was whisked away by his own team, she overheard them gushing over how handsome and tall he'd gotten since they last seen him. Since then, Iris replaced his spot at Julianna's side, her arm interlocked with her own. Knox stood back, sipping his own glass as he watched their interaction. He, unlike Quinn, was not one for talking.
The rest of her team hardly acknowledges her, they were more interested in Quinn's opinion on what district one was wearing. Julianna used to be there, she was always so excited to find new fancy gowns and new shoe designs. After her first games, Julianna was in all her glory when she was gifted with dozens upon dozens of glittery outfits and endless amounts of jewels. Generally, if Julianna had worn a gown once, she never wore it again.
Julianna always wished to live in a castle, but this was no fairytale.
She was led to the elevators and up to her room- though she knew the Remake Center like the back of her hand and could probably find her way blindfolded.
When they arrive, the table is already set with enough food to feed all of the district. To be frank, Julianna could eat it all herself. Her stomach grumbles as she gets closer. After dumping her entire lunch into the toilet last night she had been quite hungry.
Iris drags her away, earning a childish whine from Julianna. "We need to get you clean first, Julianna. And then you can eat more than your weight."
"But I just got a bath yesterday."
Iris shivers at the redhead's words, "Yes, and then you spent the night with a filthy boy."
Julianna goes still, almost frozen to Iris's touch. "I didn't-"
Iris raises an eyebrow, starting the bath water. Julianna clamps her mouth shut, biting her tongue. Enzo and Julianna weren't supposed to sleep in the same cabin, ever. They never had to worry about it before, they were never in the same games.
This time was different. They were together.
Julianna sat still as the painful process of being scrubbed, waxed, and plucked took place. Again. Though, Iris never was too harsh. Her skin was raw, a light pink blush was tattooed all over her skin. Her hair was left alone for the time being, it laid down her back in waves.
