Once we arrived at the airport, a carriage awaited us. I raised a brow and got in when the driver gestured to us. "I will be taking you to the hotel, miss. I hope you enjoy your stay there, but beware of lurking dangers that come out at night and make sure to lock your doors before bed."
After he shut the door, I sighed, a bitter grin tracing my lips. "If only you knew, mister."

It took hours, but later in the night, we'd finally arrived at our destination. The hotel could've been...better. But it would do until I could buy a plot of land.
The driver helped us with what few luggage we had and led us to our room. Once we put everything down, he gave me a map and pointed out all the locations of local food vendors and realtors. "Some people are selling their own houses to try to get out of here. You might have some luck yet."
I shook his hand and nodded. "Thank you, kind sir. I know a lot of people seem to avoid this place, but I hope to see you again."
"Ditto, kid." He laughed and walked out of the room, shutting the door behind him.
Michael yawned from his seat on the couch. "Mama, when will you be going to get food? I'm hungry."
"Soon, bub. It's dark out right now and I have to make sure it's safe to leave you here alone." I said, walking over to him. "I mean, do you think you'll be fine, little vamp?"
His eyes sparkled as he giggled. "Yes, mama. If anyone tries breaking in, I'll bite them really hard."
I ruffled his hair, "That's my boy." Then I walked out of the room and out of the hotel. Once outside, I made my way to the town to see if any vendors were still selling this late.

Luckily, there were a lot of vendors still open and they were a bit standoffish, but eventually sold to me. Everywhere I went, I felt as if I was being watched but I went about like normal and didn't wear my emotions on my sleeve. I knew the feeling well.
As I walked home, my suspicions grew tenfold due to a random bearded man walking past me on the dirt path leading to the hotel. He gave me a glare and tightened his hold on his rifle that he was carrying. I sensed something was off almost immediately and went to turn around to defend myself, but I reacted too late. A shot rang out and pain exploded in my stomach.
"Ha! I knew silver would do something to ya. Men, get over here and put this thing outta her misery and make sure y'all take that metal arm." He cackled and watched as four burly dudes appeared in my reddened vision. I growled as two of them held me up while the other three started beating me senseless.
"Die, you wretched beast!"
"Off to hell with you!"
"Where's that little boy of yours, rat?" The fuck did he just say?
The beating stopped momentarily as I looked up at them with pure rage. "I'm gonna get you, old fella."
One of the ones holding me let go fast and backed away, holding up his own rifle. "Her eyes, Dutch! She's one of them vampires that can walk in light!"
Before the old man could even lift his gun, I yanked my arm away from the other hunter, grabbed the old man's chin, and tore his jaw from his face. I then stuck the bone right through his face before moving onto the other three, who were too stunned to put up much of a fight. By the time their bodies were mangled and very much dead, I dropped to the ground, too pained and exhausted to move.
It didn't take long for me to pass out.

(Michael's POV)
Something was wrong. He could sense it and feel it through the bond that he and his mom had. And if he sensed it from the bond, that could only mean one thing: his mom was in trouble.
Michael hopped down from the couch and ran out of the hotel as fast as he possibly could. Unfortunately, he wasn't watching where he was going and slammed into a solid wall that oddly felt like a body. He huffed and got up to see exactly what he smashed into and frowned before looking up and meeting purple/green eyes that looked down at him with a strange excitement. (Daniela has heterochromia, but I can't distinguish the eye colors so I guessed them.)
Anxiously trying to look around the young woman in front of him, he rushed out, "I'm sorry, miss! My mama's in trouble and I'm trying to find her! Can you help me, please?"
The redhead chuckled and reached down to pick him up, lifting him to her height which was way off the ground. She was just a bit shorter than his mom who stood at 6'6. "Of course, little one. Oh, I see you have the same eyes as us; only yours are a little more human."
He hummed and pointed in the direction of his mom, to which the woman followed.
"I'm Daniela Dimitrescu and you are...?"
He gave her an adoring smile. "I'm Michael L/n. My mama's name is Y/n. Do you live in the big castle up there?"
Daniela cackled as they arrived to the bloody scene. "Yes and it would be improper for me to not invite you and your 'mama' as guests, especially with the snow storm coming in."
She put Michael down and inspected your body before patching up what she could. She had him hop on her back as she picked you up. "Hang on, little guy. If you feel yourself getting sick, I'll stop."
He nodded and watched over you as Daniela turned into a swarm of bugs and transported the both of you to Castle Dimitrescu.
(A/N: I hope you enjoyed! I proofread what I could, but I'm dead tired today. I'm not too sure where I'm going with this, other than the fact that I want it to be a big fluff story so the backstory of your character might get confusing at some points. Please bare with me! Have a good day everyone!)
