(A/N: I know everything's moving kind of fast in this book, but I keep thinking of it as the introduction of your character. I'll try to better pace the next one, but when I have an idea on a chapter, my mind just wants to spew it out or I'll forget about it :'(. Stay with me!)

"ALCINA!" I screamed out as I ran toward the beast and the man standing next to it. I didn't know how I knew it was her, but I had a strong feeling. When the body sitting on top of the dragon turned to me, I continued running toward her. "No no no."

"Wait, get away from that thing!" The man pointing the gun yelled.

I ignored him and pressed both of my hands to the place I felt was the location of her heart, which was beating weakly. I looked up to find her staring down at me with a sorrowful gaze, as if to apologize. I sent a small smile her way.

"You can rest now, my love." My voice cracked toward the end when Alcina's white eyes closed peacefully as her body slowly turned to ash.

"I love you, sweet girl." Her voice whispered through the air, fading.

I sat there shaking uncontrollably with her ashes covering my hands. A few disbelieving cries left my mouth as I stared at the pile on the ground.

"Where's my daughter?! I'm getting tired of this shit!"

I growled as I started to shake even more. "What daughter? The only ones here were my family."

I felt the cold barrel of the gun press to the back of my head. "Stop lying to me."

A pained scream tore through me as I let the animal take over from inside me. My eyes turned black and the veins in my skin started showing. My canines became longer once I took a deep breath and smelled the strange, stinky blood of the man I was going to kill. I looked around and saw a deep water well in the ground and figured out how I'd make sure he would stay dead.

The man aimed his gun at me, clearly frightened, and started shooting. Judging from the smell, I knew the bullets were poisoned. "You really think those will work, you worthless dunce?"

I stalked toward him, watching as he helplessly backed away from me.

"You just murdered my partner and our daughters. What makes you think that yours is more important than a entire fuckin' family?! And why the fuck would you kill them on nothing more than a HUNCH?" I yelled, the veins becoming more prominent the more I got angry. "You will die today and whoever this 'mother' is will pay for sending you here."

He barely saw me move toward him before I quite literally tore him to pieces, limb from limb, and threw them down the well. Even if he somehow healed, he wouldn't be able to climb out of it. I found materials to make cement and dumped it in the hole until I was satisfied.

Once I calmed down, the animal retreated back inside of me, leaving me feeling weak and exhausted. I slowly walked back over to Alcina's pile of ashes and dropped to my knees in despair. Broken sobs echoed through the fallen tower for a while.

"I'm so sorry, Michael." I cried out quietly, "You'll be in good hands while I'm gone."

I then started chanting a desperate tune until I was engulfed in flames. The sky turned black and the ground beneath me disappeared. Appearing in front of me was a throne that was also on fire and sitting on that throne was my closest friend.

"Satan, hear me." I bowed my head, too tired for formalities. "Bring back Alcina, Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela Dimitrescu please. I'll trade my soul if I have to."

A deep chuckle sounded from the being. "I see you have found your forever family this time, yes?"

I didn't answer, only met their eyes and conveyed my feelings through my gaze.

"Very well. However, instead of your soul, I will settle for your memories. Once they are wiped, I will transport you to another good friend of mine in West Virginia. War is brewing in Romania between the hunters and Mother Miranda, so you will need all the help you can get. Once you have reached the castle, I will give you your memories back. This conversation will be the only thing you remember when you wake up."

They slammed their staff down and I gasped as blinding light exploded in my vision before going black.

Birds chirping was what woke me up from my slumber. I opened my eyes and looked around, seeing that I was in dense snow-covered woods. How'd I get here?

I stood up and frowned, trying to think of something, anything. "Who am I?"

Why couldn't I remember my name? Where did I come from?

I didn't have time to freak out because the sound of a knife being unsheathed sounded behind me. I growled inhumanly, surprising both me and whoever was there.

"What the hell? You're on private property, bub."

I turned around and faced the man confronting me. I narrowed my eyes as I studied him and his...claws? He had a sharp looking beard with equally sharp looking hair. His teeth reminded me that of a black panther's and his claws were...pretty fucking awesome. The only reason I brought up his teeth was because he was holding a cigar between them.

And why did the word 'bub' sound so familiar?

"I'm sorry, mister, but I don't know how I even got here or who I am. All I know is that I was sent by Sa-" He interrupted me by covering my mouth with one of his hands after he'd retracted his claws.

He glowered at me in an almost animalistic kind of way. "Don't. Names hold power and if the wrong people hear it, we'll be in trouble." I yanked his hand from my mouth, "And yeah, now that you mention it, you must be the help they said they'd send me."

I grunted and followed him as he walked up a hidden path. "Yes and from the conversation that I somehow do remember, he sent me to help you so that you'd help me find a castle somewhere in Romania."

He snickered. "There are hundreds of castles there, kid. Good luck trying to find the one you're looking for."

I rolled my eyes. "It's a castle within some woman's domain. Somebody called 'Mother Miranda' is what I was told."

The man stopped dead in his tracks, his cigar falling from his mouth. He turned around to face me once again and poked a finger to my chest.

"What'd I say about the names?" He hissed. "And say we do find your castle and Miranda; what is the goal you're trying to reach?"

I shrugged helplessly. "I guess I'll help fight the war that the god downstairs mentioned. I have a deep feeling that there's something important waiting for me there as well. I can feel a pull inside of me and I don't know why. All I know is that I'll need help. Who are you?"

He stared me down before nodding and turning back around to continue down the path. "Logan. You?"

A moment of silence made him pause.

"Oh, that's right. Guess we'll just have to give you a name, won't we?" He grunted.

I sighed and said the first thing that came to mind. "Dimitrescu. 'Dimi' for short, I guess."

He hummed in thought. "Has a nice ring to it, Dimi. Won't be too long until we reach my cabin and from there we'll plan, which we'll have to do pretty fast unfortunately. With you having said MM's name, there'll surely be people after us sent by her. She prefers crows but any bird around will report to her if they see fit."

I shrugged, thinking anything's better than nothing at this point. I didn't know who I was and wasn't familiar with the area, so my best bet would be to befriend this grump and find my way to the castle in Romania and deal with whoever this 'Miranda' was.

(A/N: Don't worry, everything will sort itself out later on ;).)
