Fire, the one thing she was good for.

It now betrayed her and ran loose until the city was engulfed in flames, aching to leave the licks of her hands until it was too late. Nobody could stop the fire until it was too late. Just as she curled into a ball and wept heaving sobs, she saw two, beautiful, emerald green eyes fill her head and she took delight in his words as he said,

"It's not your fault." She focused on that but she knew it wasn't true.

"Yes, it is," she responded back sadly.

"No, it's not, the water prodigies can put it out, then everything will be back to normal!" he said persistently, as if it would change anything in the situation.

"Nothing will ever be normal again, at least not for me!" She said her voice getting caught on the last word. She then told him what had happened, how she lost control as the unquenchable flames danced across her head and escaped into her hands and left into the cityscape.

"No, no, no!" he said as she questioned if that was supposed to be reassuring. Elementalia was burning, that was the truth. And now she thought of her mentor, Sir Kenneth and the six words that had filled her nightmares- when she could actually sleep- and the words banged against her head until it escaped her mind in a mumble.

"Some fires can't be put out."
