As they left for the Element cafe, she felt a new kind of feeling erupt in her. It was happy, fed on all of their smiles and made them laugh, and it even made her smear on her own whipcocoa mustache.
She had saved the town.
She had got wonderful friends.
She got a family.
She had earned her place.
She finally belonged.
And as the four friends laced fingers and got carried away, there wasn't a care in the world. She knew these rebels were going to strike back. But she didn't care. They were ready. All she had to do was remember.
