"No, no, no, noooo!" I hear, as I scream myself awake
The nightmares have been coming for the last two years. Its always the same thing. All I can remember are those glowing eyes that look like they're on fire. That,and a wicked laugh. I always wake in a pool of sweat, my heart racing as I scream my fears away. I know its because of him - because I failed.
I don't know about you, but I doubt on your sixteenth birthday you got told by your parents that one day you would save your race. Yeah, well I did. My name is Gianna Spence, and that's exactly what I got the day I turned sixteen. Oh, and if you're wondering what race they were talking about - its not the human one. Me - I'm a freak even in my own world - the supernatural one - the supernatural race.My mom is Lillian Spence, the most powerful witch in the whole world, and my dad is David Spence, and he's, well, ah.....he's a vampire, which makes me a hybrid. Let me give you a little heads up. Just like there are good and bad humans, there are also good and bad supernaturals.When people hear "vampire" they instantly think "bad supernatural," but that's not true - especially where my dad's concerned. My dad is the head of ESBO (Evil Supernatural Banishment Organization), the supernatural agency that deals with bad supers. We call them those supers that can't maintain decorum Malum, and they must be taken before they reek havoc on the world, which, I'm sure you realize, they can do some nasty things.
Well, back to the saving the race thing. Its not just one part I'm supposed to save. I'm supposed to save all of the supernaturals, from witches, vampires, and werewolves, to fae, shape shifters, and the like. For two years I've been training both physically and magically to go against my counterpart. Who that is I have no clue, but I know for sure I can't fail my family and my friends. I just can't.
