Chapter 9

Right there before all our eyes blue misty smoke engulfs Bain and in his place stands a freaking huge Grizzly Bear. In Bain's process of changing from a cute teddy bear into a monster bear Azrael was sent flying backwards, but before he could slam into the wall his massive black wings came out from there hiding spot in his back and stopped him. I've never seen Azrael's wings before; I don't think anyone has seen his wings before actually. Who needs a parachute when you have wings that not only tower over you but also your tips drag on the ground.

While he's still hovering in the air Azrael smirks, "Now that is more like it Bain. I had to know if you had it in you. You're much too much of a nice guy." The massive bear cocked his head to the side in confusion. "I got in your face, threaten you essentially doubting your ability and you didn't take that so well, as to be expected from well any Super. No one wants to be doubted or underestimated especially at your age, as young adults you want to prove your worth to the world. Now Bain would you mind shifting back to your normal self?" Azrael slowly lands, and as he does I can see the back of his shirt is torn into ribbons from when his wings made their appearance.

"OK no problem," Bear Bain says.

I slap my hands over my ears, "Ugh would you please refrain from speaking until your human!" I grew up around Supers but one thing I cannot deal with is Shifters talking in animal form. It always bugged the shit outta me.

I hear Bain laugh as more of that same blue misty smoke surrounds him again. "Better Gia?"

"Much"

"So Azrael did I pass your little test?"

"Well Mr. Rivera I'd say so. Being the Archangel of Death, I needed to know if you can cause death and what that death would do to you. You Bain would be deeply saddened by a death that you caused, but it would not sway you." Azrael is standing with his wings pulled in close to himself.

"Is that a good thing?" Bain questions slowly not wanting to ask the wrong thing.

"Yes Bain, you did very well." Azrael praises him.

"OK I gotta ask this, how did the Archangel of Death get stuck here teaching a 'gym' class. Shouldn't you be.... I don't know helping the Malum seeing as your fallen?" Axel askes cocky as ever with his head tipped to the side and his arms crossed over his chest.

Oh boy now he's in for it, Azrael is pissed off. He slowly turns towards Axel, and you can see the anger burning in his eyes. Rage is just rippling off of Azrael's body in waves, I don't care who you are, you never question Azrael's motives ever. I've done a lot of dumb and stupid things in my life, but pissing off an Archangel, especially the Archangel of Death is not one of things I've done or plan to do for that matter.

"Do you know nothing about me boy," Azrael's voice booms throughout the whole room causing everyone to stop doing whatever it is they're doing. "I am the Angel of Death," and with that Azrael spreads his wings out.

Bain and I jump out of the ring and head over to Riley who was standing by Axel but no longer is. I don't blame her who would want to be near someone when they just pissed off someone as powerful as Azrael. With one powerful beat of his wings Azrael is up in the air and towering over Axel, I wouldn't be surprised if Axel didn't wet himself right then and there.

"I chose to fall on my own, to better serve my God. To help the lost souls of this realm make the right decision and go to haven and not give my disgraceful brother any more power than he already has! How dare you!"

"AZRAEL!!!! Stop please!" I run over to him and try to reach for him, but I can't because he is still in the air.

With Azrael's attention on me now, Axel slowly starts to back away but trips and lands on his ass. Azrael whips his head around to stare down Axel; He's stalking him now from the air. Fuck! Does this kid have a death wish or something today, the funny part about that is Azrael would know.

I try again to get Azrael to calm down, "Azrael please, he's stupid and foolish, and he doesn't think before he speaks. Proof of that today is when I went after him, don't you think that's punishment enough to get beat up by a girl, on you first day at a new school. Azrael please," I plead with him come on come back to me Az.

Azrael drops his head and lands next to me, I run into his arms and hold him tightly. Like I said Azrael is my Big brother that I've never had, and I know that if he lost control for even one moment that he would never forgive himself. I bury my head into his chest and he rests his chin on top of my head.

"I am so sorry Gianna if I frighten you, it won't happen again." Azrael whispers to me.

"I know Az, and don't worry I know you won't." I peek under his arms and see Axel looking at me, and he mouths 'Thank you'.
