                                                                                             Gianna

We stand apart breathing heavily. No I can't do this; I can't get feelings for him. I have to focus on my training; I have to protect everyone including him.

"See not gay," I pat his chest and turn away. The normal, devil may care Gianna is back. "Come on Riley the boys can follow, next class is gym and I really miss being able to kick the shit out of everyone."

We head off towards the training physicality. In gym we didn't play dodge ball or anything like that, we train in hand-to-hand combat and using what powers we have to attack and defended ourselves in an attack. I loved the fact that we spared in class, there is nothing better than feeling that rush of adrenaline while fighting.

"What the hell was that all about Gianna?" Riley questions me as she runs to catch up with me.

"Nothing jeez Ry, don't over react to anything." God I did not want to talk about that kiss or how it had me feeling.

"That," Riley says pointing behind her, "was not nothing, you can try to fool yourself but you can't fool me. I know you better than anyone. For God sake Gia I know you better than your own God damn parents."

I stop to look behind me to see the boys in a similar conversation. "It was nothing he basically dared me to prove that we," pointing from her to myself and then back again, "aren't gay. So I kissed him, now he knows I'm no gay. Riley seriously don't try to make this bigger than it already is." I start to head for the gym again.

"Bullshit," Riley grabs my arm and steps in front of me.

"What?"

"You heard me I said bullshit, I saw how you two were looking at each other after you broke that kiss. You guys looked like you were going to bang right there on the quad, so don't lie to me! You can lie to yourself but don't you dare try lying to me!"

I bust out laughing because I don't know what else to do, at this point and if I don't laugh I'm gonna cry. Damn she does know me better than anyone, sighing "Riley I don't want to talk about this right now. Can we please get to class so I can kick the shit out of someone or something? Please?"

"Fine but later we're gonna talk about this Missy," Riley crosses her arms over her massive boobs. She looks like an errant child.

"Fine later," I promise, holding out my pinkie. She smiles her million dollar smile and we lock pinkies, kiss our thumbs and touch them together. We've been locking in our promises like that since we were five years old.

"OK ladies I don't see a gym building here," Bain says strolling up to us.

"No dork it's through there," Riley points to a space in the woods.

"Where I don't see anything," Bain uses his hands to shield his eyes like he is trying to look a far distance.

"It's right there; you can't see it because of the glamour this is supposed to be a National Forest remember?" Riley smacks his hands away from his face.

"Watch me," she says more gently this time. Riley and I step off the path and disappear.

"Holy fuck that's awesome." We hear Bain as we cross over.

"We can hear you ya know," I tell him, "just walk through!" I was starting to see why Reid wanted us to show them around.

"Whoa that was trippy," Bain walks through with his hands out in front of him.

"That's the gym," Riley says pointing her thumb over her shoulder.

"Wow," Axel has stepped through and is standing next to Bain. They're standing there with their mouths hanging open like a couple of morons. Our gym would put any military base to shame. We had huge obstacle courses, work out machines, and an armory. We train with all kinds of weapons swords, cross bows, guns, anything really that we can use to defend ourselves against evil supers or Malum. Malum are very dangerous you never know what they exactly want, for the most part its power.

"So are you boys done drooling, can we go before Azrael makes us run extra laps." I hate running more than anything.

We walk into the main room of the building which is set up like a fighting gym, like a combo of boxing and MMA. There are rings and mats set-up everywhere. To one side there are life like dummies that look like real people from the waist up, along with punching bags and speed bags. Along the other side of the gym was a wall of mirrors and some free standing weights, most of the weight lifting stuff was in the weight room. To go along with our fighting room we had a weight room, a work out room that had just about every piece of work equipment you can ever imagine, and a battle room that was magic proof to work on our magical attacks.

Azrael is in the ring while two people spare, "Keep your damn hands up Eric! Every time you take a step you drop your hands." Azrael must have said that a few times by the look on his face.

I cup my hands around my mouth and yell, "Azrael are you dead?" in my best Garagmel voice.

"Meow Garagmel, get into the locker room and show these pups how it's done please." Azrael says running his hands through his shoulder length chestnut brown hair.

"Eye eye captain," I salute him. "Oh before I forget we have two newbies, this is Bain the Shape-Shifter, and this is Axel the wolf." I say pointing between the boys.

"Azrael the fallen," Azrael sticks his hand out to shake the boys' hands.

"Fallen as in fallen angel?" Axel asks skeptically.

"Yes young man, why is it always so hard for people to believe in my kind when some of your races were created by my counter parts. Malum hail to the hardest fallen of them all, now don't they."

Axel looked down, "Yeah I guess they do."

The world is full of every myth you can think of, they exist. We're present in every religion, every culture, but called something different. Vampires have been trying to come out of the dark shadow that has been cast on them for years.

"OK well then," Azrael says putting his hand on my shoulder, "I want to gauge your capability in hand-to-hand combat. You're going fight the best, Gianna here," Azrael smiles down at me with pride, he has always been the big brother I never had.

"Axel here already got a taste. Gia sent him and his bike flying this morning," Riley brags.

"I wasn't ready!" Axel throws his hands up in the air.

"OK OK suit up and let's go," Azrael says walking back to the ring.
