Hi, this is a recounting of a dream I had while napping today. Yes, I am 18, yes, I take naps. Fight me.

--------------

The country is connected by the Great River, it is my job to deliver the gifts to the people who live along the river and it's streams. My boat is small, a little sail boat with a rainbow sail and a pride flag at the top.

(Don't ask, its my dream and I am very much not straight.)

I live with my mother, and her job as a servant of the river is to collect the packages for the people, so that I may deliver them. Our job is highly important, keeping our society alive and well.

Today was the day my mother went into the military base to retrieve this months bi weekly packages. It always took a few days for her to return, and the alone time was greatly appreciated.

I only live with my mother because it means free housing, otherwise I live on my boat. Sailing up the great river each day, delivering letters and packages to neighbors and friends.

The days pass and my mother had not returned yet, and I, wanting to evade paying bills, needed to have a parent living in the house, so I didn't have to pay to live somewhere.

I packed a bag full of food and hoisted my sail and flag, watching the forming clouds warily. A storm was brewing. By the time I was ready to leave, my phone fully charged, my mother's location shining on the screen, rain had begun to fall.

I spent several hours in the boat, sailing gently down the water. As the location of my mom's phone grew closer, I saw a chasm open up directly where the gps told me my mom was.

As any sane person does in a dream, I docked my boat, removed the sail and walked into a military training facility, with the sail. I asked around and got zero fucking answers until I found some new recruits.

They informed me that the "pit" as they called it was where the government put they things that lost their use.

"So the government took my mom?" I asked the young adults, my voice flat and judgmental.

The two students seemed a bit startled, "Yeah, I guess. Are you goimg to try and get her back?"

"Yeah."

"You must really care about your mom."

"Not really, I just want to avoid paying taxes."

(That line really says something about the value I have given my family.)

At that, I left the base, descending into the  pit. By the logic of dream physics, I had enough rope to reach the bottom, where a castle sat. Entering led me to some rich ass bougousi looking bitch.

I demanded my mother back, and in turn i was attacked by cannibals. (for some reason Hannibal and Will Graham were there and there was a whole "mating ritual" thing and it ended with Will killing Hannibal, but that wasn't too important. Do I add an Hannigraham tag to this book now?) I ran and climbed my way from the pit, still carrying the sail.

I hopped onto my boat and set up my sail, the storm was now in full force, thunder and lightning included. Once I have begun sailing away, cold and soaked to the bone in water, I resolved myself to not return home, drifting down the rivers and streams.
