I walked into my apartment shutting the door behind me and sliding down the door. I sighed. I felt a vibration in my hand. I lifted up my phone and held it to my ear.
"Right on time" I spoke
"I assume everything went well" he seemed cheery
"Yes, it did. Now transfer my money"
"Eager much?"
"I just risked my safety I think I've earned the right"
"I can only transfer half the funds right now. The rest are in cash"
"Cash? I never agreed to that"
"Well, you're agreeing to it now. Either way, I have something for you" Something for me? what's he planning? He's not a giving person
"Something for me? If it's another black card just have Tadashi bring it to me along with the money. I trust he won't do anything with it, he knows what'll happen if he does"
"I'd prefer if you come in person" Why is he so persistent? He saw me the other day when I so leisurely kicked down his door, couldn't he have talked to me then?.
"Fine where do you want me to meet you"
"The Hotel we own on the Northside of town. Room 505"
"What time?" This was a little suspicious. I don't know what he's planning but I don't like the feeling I'm getting right now. Like the calm before a storm. And I have a feeling I'm going to have to go to the eye.
"8 pm"
"Alright" I shut the phone. I was exhausted. I knocked the heels off my feet and stood up. I still had my wig in my hand. I walked over to my bathroom and threw it in the garbage. I looked in the mirror. Not only did I feel dead I looked dead. My pale complexion was not something I got from my father who was a tan man or my mother who had peach-colored skin. It was a misfortune of my quirk. My eyes as well looked devoid of any life.
I sighed, taking out my blade and placing it on the counter. I slid the straps of my dress off and unzipped the back letting it slip off. I needed a shower. I opened the curtain and hopped in turning on the cold water, letting it run down my body. I didn't bother to turn on the hot water. All it reminded me of was that day. Something I desperately tried to forget. Her face melting in front of me flashed in my head. I grabbed my chest and tried to slow my breathing. I sat down and let the cold water surround me. After finally calming down I finished washing up and got ready for bed.
Next Day
I walked toward the counter and saw a woman standing on the other side. "How may I help you today"
"I have a reservation for room 505"
"Can I see identification?" I sighed and reached my neck pulling my hair back to reveal the tattoo. She stiffed up and reached down to get the key for the room.
"Here you are ma'am" she reached the card out and I reached out grabbing it softly.
"Thank you" I walked over to the elevator and pushed the button. I looked up to see the numbers drop as the elevator made its descent. I felt someone behind me.
"Fancy seeing you here" I turned my head to see him.
"Hotari. Huh didn't know you were still working" I smiled proudly
"I may not be working as much as you but I'm still in business."
"Huh, I thought after losing your spot to me you'd die of sorrow" his smile refused to falter.
