Pt 9

It had been an hour and the only people to enter or exit the building were rich slobs but no one to look like my father. I pulled the binoculars back up to my eyes and peered through them. A car approached. I turned the focus nob to get a better picture. Then I saw a familiar face walkout. He stood there with his stupid little fancy mask. What is Kai doing here? I saw someone coming out of the building. My eyes widened. He looked older but there was no way of knowing if that was the man who caused my pain and suffering. But more importantly, why is he meeting with Kai. I know Kai doesn't know who he is because we have different last names(she kept her mom's last name) but what relation do they have? Should I get closer? I know I can sneak in but finding their room that's the problem. I should just wait and then confront Kai about it maybe he can help. I haven't seen him since he was like 15. I think I was 17 at the time.

I know his father and Mori knew each other back in the day and that's how we met. I also heard his father's sick so I'm guessing he took over the business. He was one of the only kids my age who understood how it felt to be in the same business. He was my friend until the yakuza went underground. I haven't seen him since. looked back down at the scene they walked inside. Great now I have to wait again. I pulled out my phone to look at the time it was getting late and I was tired. I looked up at the sky the stars were visible but the city smog covered up the view a little bit. I close my eyes for a bit and took a break it'll be a while before they come out again.

I opened my eyes to be met with a sunny sky. Oh no. I pulled out my phone and saw it was 10 am how long had I slept. I looked back out to the hotel and saw Kai's car wasn't in the parking lot. I opened my phone and saw a message from Tadashi, he said the boss wanted me to call he had information on my "father".I went to his contact and pulled the phone up to my ear.

"I'm guessing you backed out," the other line said

"What are you talking about"

"His flight for the states left an hour ago" Fuck. I stayed silent.

"I fell asleep waiting for him to come out of his stupid hotel"

"Of course you did"

"I found a lead though I'll get my chance again. But I actually have something to ask you"

"And what might that be"

"By any chance you know where I can find that Kai kid. The adoptive son of that yakuza leader you know"

"Well I know how to contact him" yes perfect "Actually I hear he's meeting with the infamous league of villains tonight"

"Perfect send me the address" I wasn't going to waste any time.

"Don't interrupt their meeting you don't want to get in trouble with the league" he seemed concerned.

"I'll be fine" I hung up

I looked in the mirror adjusting my katana sheath. I wasn't going to bring any other weapons but I wasn't going to show up empty-handed either. I walked over to my kitchen and grabbed my cup filling it with water. I pulled the cup up to my lips and chugged it. I pulled my mask up to cover my face. Time to go.

I walked to the warehouse where they were apparently meeting. I was nervous for one I hadn't spoken to Kai in years and I gotta say I missed him a bit. I wonder what he's been up to(he's been up to no good). I found the warehouse and held my breath as I approached the entrance. I walked in and let out my breath. I walked around the building it was just about to get dark they were probably going to show up any minute now. I looked up and saw a good hiding spot. I jumped on a big box in the corner and used it to bring myself up. Before I even had time to get comfortable the door opened I held my breath and looked over at the door it was the league they walked over to the back of the warehouse and I let out my breath they shouldn't even be able to see me why'd I hold my breath. I listened in to their conversation.
