"Abby! You up?" I heard my mom shout from downstairs as I was grabbing my stuff to go to school.

"Yeah, mom. I've been up for a while now." I chuckle as I go down the stairs. My mom looks up from searching her bag for her keys.

"Oh, hi, honey. Are you sure you're gonna be fine this afternoon?" She was trying to keep her voice calm, but I noticed the concern in her eyes. Ever since we found out, I've been noticing that a lot.

"I'll be fine, mom. I'll just go to Julie's for an hour or two, and then I'll be off to the doctor's appointment. I promise I'm not going to be late."

"I know you won't, Abby. I'm just worried." She sighed as she went to open the front door.

"Nothing to worry about, mom. Well, not today." I tried to joke, but my mom shot me a glare. Too soon.

"Alright, I'm going to go to work. Have fun at Julie's." She kissed my forehead and opened her car door. I waved at her as she drove off.

I quickly got onto my bike and drove to school. Although I was seventeen, my mom refused to buy me a car. Said she didn't want to worry about me for yet another dangerous thing.

As I walked into the hallway of Loz Feliz High School, I noticed Julie and our friend, Flynn, talk to Carrie. I've never really known Carrie in person, but I can't say I feel like I'm missing out on something.

I reluctantly approached them, hoping that Carrie would leave before I arrived.

"Oh my gosh, Flynn. Don't bother coming!" Carrie turned around and strutted off as she continued giving people her flyers. Flynn looked down as she crumple up the piece of paper she got from Carrie. I snuck behind her as I quietly as I could.

"Oh my gosh!" I sqealed loudly, before ducking my head down to avoid getting hit in the face by Flynn's hair as she rapidly turned around in fright. She sighed in relief when she saw it was me, but her expression quickly turned into a scowl. Julie giggled behind her.

"Abigail Clarke! How dare you scare me like that? You know, I think I nearly had a heart attack!" I chuckled.

"Whatever you say, Flynn. Anyway, Julie, I came to ask you if it's still okay if I came over for math after school?"

"Definitely, Abby. I can't thank you enough for doing this." Julie's eyes softened as she looked at me.

"You're welcome, Jules." I chuckled and went to lean against the lockers. Julie looked dreamily at Nick, Carrie's jock boyfriend, as he typed on his phone. Flynn look at her, exasperated.

"Nick? Still? You know they're gonna get married and have a bunch of unholy babies." I giggled at her statement, but quickly shut up after Julie gave me a glare. She shook her head and leaned into us.

"Nick's a sweetheart." She mumbled.

I snorted. "Yeah, you'd actually have to talk to him to know that, Jules."

"Yeah," Flynn deadpanned, "and only one of them has to be a demon to make a demon baby." She turned and looked back at Carrie. "Demon!" Carrie just shot us a glare in confusion and disgust. The three of us quickly turned our heads and spluttered out a few laughs.

Flynn looked up to Julie and smiled. "There's that smile. Now, let's go prove everybody wrong." They said their goodbyes to me and went to go to the music program. I used to be in there as well, but, just like always, my mom thought it would be best if I dropped it. Couldn't handle the stress and all that.

I sighed as the bell rung. "Well, time for me to prove everybody right by failing my physics test." I mumbled and strutted over to the classroom.

After school, I hurriedly made my way to the Molina residence. I had heard people talking about Julie refusing to sing in class, so I was determined to go and save her from her thoughts. I rung their doorbell and waited patiently.

Her dad opened the door. "Oh hey, Abby. You must be here to tutor Julie. She's in the studio." He smiled softly. I could see the proud glint in his eyes.

"Hi, mr. Molina. I am, is it okay if I go in there?" I asked, surprised that Julie actually went inside her mom's studio, seeing she hasn't gone in there since her mom passed away.

"Of course, go ahead." I smile at him in thanks and make my way over to the garage. As I approached, I saw Julie standing with her hands on the sheet that covered the piano. She sighed and turned around, finally spotting me as I awkwardly stood in front of the garage's entrance.

"Oh. Hi, Abby. I didn't hear you coming. You can come in if you want." She quietly pulled the sheet off of the piano. She walked around the piano as I hesitantly entered the studio. Julie picked up a few papers with what I assumed was music on it, since I couldn't really see it clearly. Julie sighed once more, putting the sheets of paper down onto the piano and sitting down behind it.

"I'm assuming you're not really in the mood for math." I tried to joke softly. She chuckled sadly. "Not really."

Julie looked up at the ceiling as I went to sit on the armrest of the couch. "I'm so sorry, mom. That I haven't been here." I felt the tears forming in my eyes, but I bit my tongue, for Julie's sake. She stood back up and looked at floor above. She went to climb the ladder to go up, and I decided it would be best if I stayed put. She needed some time for herself.

She stayed up there for a while, and when she came back down, she was holding a black cd. "Whose is that?" I asked curiously, moving over to her. She put it in the cd player. "I don't know. Guess we'll find out soon enough."

She pressed play and we went to sit on the couch in silence, both listening to the song that came out of the speakers. It was rock, and we softly bobbed our heads to the music. It was good.

We suddenly heard screaming from above us, and we looked at each other in confusion, as if to ask the other if they heard it too. Julie covered her ears as I gulped nervously.

We both abruptly stood up as three boys appeared out of nowhere and fell onto the ground with a harsh thud.

"What the hell?" I breathed.

AN: well, here's Abby! By the way, I don't know if you'd noticed by now, but I just started watching the 100 and I just wanted to say it was a complete coincidence that I mixed Clarke and her mom's name! I have another name option, but I don't really know if I should change it. Let me know what you think!
