Casey's POV

I sat in the dark, picking at the gray clothes they had given us. Liv had fallen asleep a few hours ago. But I won't sleep, I can't leave us vulnerable and unprotected. All of the sudden the door opened and guy #2 stepped in. I stood up quickly and got into a fighting stance.

"I was hoping I wouldn't have to do this." he growled. He made his way towards me, something glinting in his hand. I gritted my teeth as he got closer. He lunged at me but I dodged. Apparently I wasn't fast enough though, as he managed to grab hold of my arm. Before I could act, whatever he had in his hand was plunged into my arm. I swung at him but missed. He let go of my arm, just as I was about to charge at him the world started to sway. My vision blurred and filled with spots. I fell down, the last thing I saw in my fleeting vision was guy #2 taking Liv away.

I had failed.

------------------------------------

I was woken by the sound of the door opening again. I sat up to see Liv being dumped on the floor. She rolled a few feet before the door shut again. I struggled to stand but I managed, and made my way to Liv. Her pants were only half on and her shirt was on backwards. I grabbed her shoulders and started shaking her. "Wake up lazy ass!" Her eyes slowly opened and when she saw me she screamed and pushed me away.

She looked around frantically. When she saw it was only me she calmed down a little. "What happened?" she asked me, starting to shake as she pulled up her pants.

"I don't know, you tell me." I said to her, running my fingers through my hair. She looked a little confused then she seemed to have remembered something. She wrapped her arms around her knees and started to cry. "Uh, hello?" I said to her, waving my hand in her face, "You didn't answer my question!" She glared at me and got up. She walked over to her cot and lied down with her back to me. "Was it something I said?" I asked, giving her a confused look. I got up and walked over to her grabbing her shoulder and shaking her.

She pushed my hand away and growled. "Well fine Miss Crabby Pants, I don't need you either!" I huffed.

"You don't understand, do you?" I heard Mady say.

"Understand what?" I questioned.

"It finally happened. And it will happen to you too." she said with a dark tone in her voice.

"What exactly is 'it'?" I asked, confused.

"It's not something I like to talk about."

"Well then how am I supposed to know what 'it' is!" I pouted.

"You'll find out soon enough, there's no escape. I've tried and I still have the scars."

"Well it's a good thing I'm not you then, isn't it." I smirked to myself.

"In the end it doesn't matter who you are, we'll all die soon."

"For a seven year old you sure are dark."

"I'm nine."

"Same difference." I shrugged. "But if it's rape you're talking about then I'd like to see them try. I've taken my fair share of fighting lessons." I lied down on my own cot and started tracing the cracks on the ceiling with my eyes. "Besides, who would want to rape me?"

"Do you think you'd be here if they didn't want you?" Mady said with an air of 'Are you stupid?' in her voice, but hey, I never said I got good grades or payed attention in school.

"Maybe they thought I was someone else."

"If that were the case you'd probably be dead by now."

"You make a good point." I admitted as I tapped my chin, "But I have luck on my side! I think..." I heard a small smack from Mady's room. "Did you just face palm? I know I don't have it copy righted but attitude is my thing!"

"I can't believe you! Your supposed best friend just got raped and you're making jokes?" I didn't respond as the gravity of the situation sunk in. So I said the only thing I could say, "Joking is my way of shutting out the bad things. Always has been, always will be." Liv shifted a little over on her cot, it was silent now. The silence was welcomed though, and much needed.

If what Mady said was true, I would need to come up with an escape plan. Fast. Or else I might  suffer the same fate as her and Liv.
