Hyunjin stumbled backwards as Felix's fist connected with his nose. Blood immediately spilled down his face. His shoe caught on the ground as he stepped back, making him fall hard on his butt.

Felix gasped and stepped back, shocked at himself for using violence. He covered his mouth in horror.

Chan immediately stepped forward, not quite sure what was going on but ready to defend his Aussie brother from whatever Hyunjin did in return. Changbin, too, put a protective arm around Felix's shoulder.

Jisung and Minho watched the entire scene wide-eyed, frozen in place and too scared to interfere.

Hyunjin slowly stood back up, wiping blood off of his face with the back of his hand. He spit some blood out of his mouth before looking Felix straight in the eye.

But what he did next surprised everyone.

Rather than hurting Felix or even making some angry comment, he just sighed, frowned slightly, then turned and walked away, rubbing his sore butt and holding his nose as he went.

"See you at detention," he muttered over his shoulder at Changbin before he pushed his way between a few girls and disappeared into the crowd of students.

As soon as Hyunjin was out of sight, Felix dropped down into a squatting position, hiding his face in his shaky hands.

"I-I'm sorry, that was so wrong of me, I shouldn't've-"

Changbin sat down next to Felix and wrapped the younger boy in a hug, patting him softly on the top of his head. "It's okay, Felix," he said quietly. "And don't listen to Hyunjin. He was wrong about everything he said."

Felix didn't answer.

The fun, joking atmosphere between everyone had died so quickly, so that now the boys were all uncomfortably silent.

Jisung glanced around at everyone, rubbing his foot against the ground as he clasped his hands together behind his back. There were kids watching them and staring as they walked around the group.

"What was he saying about detention?" Chan asked awkwardly, rubbing at the nape of his neck.

Changbin shrugged. "We both got detention for some stupid argument we had in class. But don't worry. He literally doesn't even look at me. He just sits on the other side of the room and works on homework."

Felix sniffled, obviously holding back tears.

Jisung shifted his weight from his left foot to his right foot, looking around at his friends. "Hey," he said quietly, making everyone turn to face him. "How about we go find somewhere to sit? Let's not let Hyunjin ruin what's supposed to be a fun day."

Minho gave Jisung a small smile, patting his head gently. "I wholeheartedly agree," he said.

Jisung smiled back at Minho, reaching up to pat him on the head, too.

And that just about killed Minho. He laughed awkwardly, flustered, and felt his cheeks heat up in an embarrassing blush.

He cleared his throat. "HmmM! A-Anyway, haHa, leT's gO," he stuttered, turning with flair towards the part of the field where students were allowed to sit and hang out. Of course, there were the bleachers too, but who was gonna force themselves to sit on a cold, bumpy piece of metal for six hours?

Changbin gently took Felix's hands and pulled him up, giving him a quick squeeze.

Felix sniffled and choked out a small laugh. "Sorry. I ruined our good field day vibes."

Chan smiled. "Naur," he assured, "you were honestly pretty cool."

"R-Really?" Felix's eyes sparkled a bit and he looked up, his lips curling up into an almost-smile.
