When you disappeared

Y/n POV

"Wilbur! Is there NO way to open the fucking doors! Why did Tech lock it anyways!" You continue to yank on the door handles, hoping it would magically ping open.

It didn't.

"Stop for God's sake!" Wilbur slapped your hand away from the door.

You sighed loudly and flopped back down onto the back seats.

"He'll be back soon, just chill" Wilbur turned back to the window to his left since he'd moved onto the drivers seat.

You struggled to chill as it took Techno some time around a half hour to get back got the car.

"Aye, there he is" Tommy waved as you sprung upwards and nearly smacked into the window.

"Techno! Unlock the bloody car!" Tommy screams.

Techno looks up, his expression solemn.

His left hand digs around in his pocket, producing a set of car keys.

Once the van was unlocked, you jumped out of the car, padding up to Techno.

"Hey! Where did ya go?" You ask, grinning.

"Oh just for a bit a walk" he replied, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.

"Sure thing" You huff, a little exasperated.

You walk back to the van, a little bit behind Techno and you notice something strange.

"You're limping" You point out, confused.

Techno grunted and continued towards the van.

"Uh, no no. You're gonna tell me what happened" You caught hold of his arm, seeing him wince a little.

"Nothing. I just, er, twisted my ankle on the way back" He looked away from you, his expression fogged over.

"No, see, it's funny because you don't think I can tell when you're lying"

Techno let out a long sigh before turning to face you, not quite making eye contact.

"I got ambushed in an alley. It was clear they knew who I was but I didn't know them. It's nothing too bad, one of them just caught me off guard, that's all" He produced a short silvery blade from his pocket, spinning it between his fingers.

You squinted in the harsh sunlight, something suddenly clicking in your brain.

"Dream!"

"What?" Only then did Techno meet your eyes.

"They must've been Dream's friends. Think about it. He didn't seem bothered about leaving us earlier which would make sense if he had tabs on us anyways and if they knew you from Dream you would have no reason to know them" You tilt your head up a little, watching the clouds float past.

"Makes sense" Techno nodded thoughtfully.

"- no. we need to leave now" You turn and sprint back to the van, Techno right behind you.

"What's up?" Wilbur asks as you get in.

"Tech got caught off guard by people who we believe, might be with Dream" The two of you exchange a glance.

Wilbur looked between you both once before grinning.

"Step on it!"
