"Paisley!" I hear my dad yell from down the hall.

It's been two hours since we found out Jamie went missing and still nothing.

We've contacted everyone we could think of, sent out all of our best trackers, and even notified the local police station which is something we wolves rarely do. But we're desperate right now and will do anything and everything to find Jamie and bring him back home safely.

Dad even called in a few of the neighboring Alphas to help with the search. They were all of course more than happy to help us try and locate Jamie.

"Did they find him?" I run into his office and ask hopefully.

"We believe so. Alpha Jarrod said his trackers followed a scent similar to Jamie's all the way to Bennett's territory." Dad says with murderous eyes.

"Bennett? Are you serious?" I ask in disbelief.

"Yes." Dad growls. He's beyond pissed off and for good reason.

Bennett used to be one of my dad's top warriors before he was mysteriously kicked out of the pack and labeled as a rogue. After that he essentially started his own pack of rogues and established territory in no man's land.

A rogue is a wolf who has left his or her pack willingly or has been kicked out of their pack.

Being kicked out of your own pack is one of the harshest punishments a wolf can receive.

Most rogues become bloodthirsty and dangerous due to the lack of structure and protection only a pack can provide.

"The bastard has been looking for a way to get revenge since the day I had to kick him out of the pack." Dad snarls and slams his fist against his desk. I flinch at the sound and take a step back. I know he wouldn't hurt me on purpose but an angry wolf is not a wolf in control of itself.

My dad has never told me why Bennett was kicked out of the pack, but I know whatever he did had to be bad.

The sound of the doorbell brings me out of my thoughts.

"Paisley sweetie will you go let whoever that is in? It's probably Alpha Mason. He's the only one we're waiting on." Dad asks and it feels like my heart stops beating inside my chest.

"Alpha Mason?" I ask. My face devoid of emotion.

"Yes. Is that a problem?" He questions suspiciously and raises a brow at me.

"No, of course not." I answer before stepping out of the room.

Calm down Paisley and get your shit together. It's just Mason.

I mentally prepare myself as I come to a halt at the front door. I take a deep breath in before grabbing the handle and turning it. I swing open the door to reveal a concerned-looking Mason.
