"Asterin?" The blonde turned away from the window to see Narcissa walking towards her with a concerned look on her face.
"What is wrong, my dear? You look troubled."
"I didn't wake you, did I? I was trying to be quiet." Asterin looked towards the clock on the mantle, wincing as she noticed it was nearing two in the morning.
"Nonsense. Lucius was called by the Dark Lord and I can't seem to sleep when he's gone," she told the young girl softly.
"Is that why you look so troubled? Was Draco called too?"
Asterin nodded slowly before peering out the window again into the darkness, as if Draco would be walking up the path to the front entrance.
"You have grown to like him, I see," she said with a small smile. "I know it is something you do not want, Asterin, especially being so young, but it will be good for you to have this security. As long as you're with Draco, you will be safe and well taken care of."
"He told me a little bit about your marriage to Lucius. He says ours will be the same." Asterin turned to Narcissa who looked sad suddenly. "I don't mind too much. When we're away from certain eyes, he can be quite charming. I know he has to put up appearances to appease the Dark Lord."
"He's had seventeen years of watching our marriage. It does not surprise me he will follow in our footsteps. I am glad he got the Malfoy charm. His father is quite amazing with his when he's in trouble with me." Narcissa smiled softly and her eyes turned hazy, as if she was remembering something before she blinked it away.
"You should get some rest, Asterin. You will be leaving for Hogwarts in a few hours. I wouldn't want you to fall asleep during Dumbledore's many speeches." The women laughed softly and turned to see Draco and Lucius staring at them both. Their smiles fell as quickly as they came.
"The Dark Lord is here. He wishes to speak to Draco's betrothed," Lucius' cold eyes stared into Asterin's soul before he held his hand out to his wife. Narcissa sighed and took his hand, allowing Draco to kiss her cheek before she was lead away.
"Your parents are here," Draco murmured as he too held his hand out to her. Asterin's nerves heightened at the thought of seeing her parents for the first time since summer began. She blinked away the tears at the unknown before taking his hand. Draco cupped her cheek to force her to look at him where he wiped away a tear.
"Do not let him see this weakness, Asterin. He will not appreciate it and he will punish you for it. Cover it up." He gave her a moment for her blank mask to appear and led her down the stairs to the drawing room.
"Ah, there's young Nott." The Dark Lord glided across the room before gripping her chin in his bony fingers. Asterin managed to hold in her gasp at how cold he felt.
"I was just telling your parents the good news!" Asterin could just barely hear her mother sobbing and the sounds of her father trying to comfort her.
"You will become a Death Eater this very night, young Nott."
Asterin's world shattered.

"Fleur?"
Asterin blinked away the memory and turned away from her Dark Mark to see Draco staring down at her with furrowed brows.
"What does fleur mean?"
