Y/n's POV

Come on Y/n! You can do this!

I stood in my gym uniform with everyone in the waiting room, preparing for the upcoming festival.

I stretched my arms above my head as I listened to my classmates' conversations.

"I wonder what the first round's gonna be..."

"No matter what comes, we have no choice but to deal with it."

"Everyone, are you ready?" Iida came bursting into the room. "We will be entering soon!"

Alright. Let's do this.

"Midoriya."

I turned my head to the deep, silky voice that belonged to the one and only Todoroki Shoto.

"Todoroki-kun. What is it?" Midoriya replied, stunned.

Now everyone is focusing on the two's conversation.

"Looking at things objectively, I think I'm stronger than you." Todoroki stated bluntly.

No shit Sherlock. But did you have to say it out loud?

"Y-yeah..." Midoriya awkwardly replied.

"But... All Might had his eye on you, doesn't he? I'm not trying to pry about that."

Wow, someone who minds his own business? That's rare.

"But I'm going to beat you." Todoroki finished, his face stoic as always.

"Oh? Is the best in the class making a declaration of war?" Kaminari wondered.

"Hey, hey, hey! Why are you picking a fight all of a sudden?" Kirishima placed a hand on Todoroki's shoulder. "Not now, we're about to start!" (A/N: Bokuto?!)

"We're not here to play at being friends," Todoroki said as he knocked the hand off. "So why does it matter?"

No no, he's got a point.

"Todoroki-kun, I don't know what you're thinking when you say you'll beat me," Midoriya called out. "But of course you're better than me. I think you're more capable than most people..."

"But I'll be going for it with everything I have, too." He finished determinedly.

"Yeah." Todoroki replied.

Yeah?! That's it?! That's all you've got for a comeback?!

Man...and I was looking forward to a roast battle too...

"Hey!!" An obnoxious and blasting voice shook us all out of our reverie.

"Everybody, are you ready?!" Present Mic shouted from his broadcasting area. "It's time for the students to enter the first-year stage!"

I took a deep breath.

Here we go...

"Hero course, Class 1-A!!"

I squared my shoulders and stood up straight, inching my chin up and fixing a neutral expression on my face.

I followed everyone out into the middle of the roaring stadium.

"Quiet, everyone!" The R-rated hero Midnight yelled as she stood on a platform and cracked her whip. "Representing the students is Bakugo Katsuki from Class 1-A!"

Hold up... Did she say-

"Kacchan?"

I watched Bakugo stroll casually up to the microphone.
